Rear ASC Pump leak :(

Well, sadly I came out to the driveway on Tuesday to find a fairly big puddle of oil between the read bumper and the rear passenger side wheel. That's exactly where the pump is for the center and rear diffs and checking the reservoir in the trunk I did find it just a the Min level.

The cage around the pump was coated in oil and a visit to the deal confirmed a leak from the pump, not any of the seals or connectors. Luckily the dealer is awesome and I learned a ton about the car and the way this pump operates and how it's installed. What an awesome shop here in the NW!

The diagnoses is the pump itself though, so meanwhile I'm waiting for the part to come and driving the car with ASC off. There's no other news of this happening to any other '08 or '09 Ralliart or EVO that I can find, and there wasn't any obvious damage.

I'm curious if anyone else notices andy drips around the pump area. You can check it pretty easily behind the rear right tire.

Whaaaaaa??? A pump for the rear diff?! Maybe on the evo... I guess it makes sense for the center diff, though.

+1. Mines a PITA. I'd rather drive 1.5hours to one that I like, than my local dealer.

Good luck on the fix!

I am surprised you can still drive the car.

Good luck with the repairs.

Yeah, definitely weird. No warning or lights, but yes, there was still plenty of fluid in the reservoir, but it was below min by the time I took it in to the dealer.

I'm not sure if driving with ASC off is making any difference, I haven't crawled under to check for new leaks, but he part comes in Monday and it'll be replaced that day.

I really hope this is just a case of one bad part and it doesn't become a problem across the board. I definitely recommend you guys check the part for oil leak when you get a chance.
