I don't know how anyone can be arguing with amby on this one. Granted I don't live in Calgary, but at this time of the year the streets are fairly similar here in Saskatoon.

Like he said, all the main roads here where the cars drive are absolutely dry and clear of snow. There is rocks/gravel, but its on the shoulder of the road and would really not affect driving whatsoever.

If this guy is blaming the crash on gravel or whatever he said, he's obviously:
1. driving way too fast
2. driving on the shoulder of the road for no apparent reason
3. doesn't really know how to drive at all

Even going let's say 10 KMH over the speed limit (which most people do pretty much everywhere here) I don't understand how you could flip a car 6 times and try blaming the road.

please read #5... 3 or 4 posts back.. this is already known WHICH MEANS that the driver IS NOT BLAMING THE STUPID ROCKS ON THE ROAD FOR THE CRASH.. it was a combination of factors- #1 = driver error... so let it b. he just wrecked his car quit telling him stuff that he already knows.. if u posted that u accidently backed into a car because u didnt look behind you. i would not fill up ur thread which such statements as "You should have looked in your mirrors" or "the parking lots in my city r the same way and i dont back into cars". you would already know what u did wrong, it could b said once and then left alone.. ill quote it again..

He knows what he did but apparently other people who live in a separate country have decided to make it an issue. If you read through, there are several occasions where people call me out personally for daring to suggest that this wasn't a result of bad road conditions as the OP originally suggested.

amby im not going to start an arguement with you, if u disagree with something i say please PM me and i will respond accordingly .. i very much disagree with filling these threads up with arguements.
anyways please answer this.. as to what i understand (please corect me if im wrong) there r no rocks on the ROAD itself but there is some on the shoulder. and if he is making a turn going over the speed limit or even a manageable speed then the turn will b wider putting him on the shoulder, thus putting two of his four wheels on gravel. SO in conclusion based on this theory he was speeding - #1 cause.. #2 driver error.. and #3 road condition(because of the shoulder). .as causes of this accident.
i have read this whole thread.. and i am a person that lives in a totally different climate but on the night of my g/f death there were only rocks on the shoulder in mid feb. she was driving at speeds much greater then she should have been, popped over a hill that had a slight curve in it, thus putting the right two wheels of my car on the shoulder, she over corrected and slid the car.... you get the point of the story. Im not calling you out but do u agree on this theory?

And yet I was right, you'd think it would get tired, you know, being right all the time but strangely enough, it's still satisfying.

I drive right by the very road he crashed on and I can tell you, I've watched many less capable cars go quite quickly (including buses) and some even run wide and they don't have an issue. The intersection in question is very busy, it is well-maintained by the city (ie. sweeped). The cars that frequent also act to clear it. I agree that gravel on the side could attribute to an accident, however, given the road in question, this is highly unlikely. Moreover, he talks about rolling into a ditch. Well this means he likely rolled off of an on-ramp, which are, again, well maintained. The key component to this was speed. If he hadn't been driving in the manner he clearly was, he wouldn't have crashed. This wasn't an accident in the sense that it wasn't just bad luck, serious driver error was the cause. Could road conditions have attributed to it? Sure, much like road conditions can attribute to a drunk driver crashing but there is a big issue at hand.

So you're going to ignore the rest of my post and just piece together what you want to hear. As I said, given the road in question, it's not the major issue and making it out to seem that way is silly. Somebody crashing at 160 MPH could easily argue that the road was the cause of the crash but I doubt anyone here would see it that way.

ugh anywayz coming out of a turn hit a pile of stupid pebbles
when flying right into a curb rolled my car like 5-6 times into a ditch......and now i dont have a car....
ugh good day....
he first states that pebbles was a cause.. at this point we could conclude anything from a rock fell off a cliff onto his car all the way to he was driving while there was gravel on the road causing the wreck.. we then find out this...

i dont care if you people pity me or not...everything happens for a reason yeah i was a lil quick on my turn and i hit a curb directly after trying to gain control

amby not everywhere is clean up of rocks in the city my mother almost ate crap standing on gravel on the curb talking to the cops

but whatever im all good just suffered a minor concussion few bruises but im still alive
my RA is pretty much done for so i dunno ill keep you guys up to date
i wanna keep this car going
okay well we now know he was driving quick.. so speed is the number one factor now... 1.speed 2.driver error ("trying to gain control") and 3.gravel
omg.. no way.. i feel like i have said that be4
