Ralliart (the Mitsubishi sub-group that creates the Ralliart performance parts) is slimming down to next to nothing, but that is mostly unrelated to our Ralliarts except maybe a name change eventually, but that's just a rumor.

Man, wtf . Release some damn info on your CARS to generate some press. Anyways, I'm starting to feel that the rumors of the wider fender Ralliart may be true. Subaru and Mitsubishi has always either followed or led each other in regards to the Lancer and Impreza basic design and engineering. With Subaru releasing wide body WRX/Sti shared body styles, I'm thinking they know somethings coming from Mitsubishi that we don't know. Either way, I think Mitsubishi has their work cut out for them if they want the Ralliart to stay competitive with the WRX.

+1 thats exactly what i was thinking..
But it's hard to imagine RA will get all the additional goodies without increase in price (or decrease in standard eq.)

anyway, lets hope for the best

Im sure the Price will go up a tab bit if we get all those things but with a traditional manual version might be a little less than the SST version. Assuming you can choose.

Mitsubishi needs to sell more cars ...period...a manual ralliart could only help as would one that more resembles the evo... They need to compete with Subaru and the updates they have made in 09 and now the 2010-11 wrx's

Tell them you are ready to buy today. They can't force you to buy something. =)

They may require a non-refundable deposit. Supposedly some dealerships around here did the same when the Evo was first released.
Anyways, Mitsubishi is in a bad position here. If they give the Ralliart a 5-speed and the same fenders as the Evo, they could eat into Evo sales. The Ralliart already has the same block, it has the AWD from the 9, it looks similar and it has more or less the same interior. If it suddenly gets the same fenders (and thus looks almost identical) and a robust 5-speed (maybe out of the GSR), it'll raise questions as to whether the GSR is worth the additional cost.

Don't know if they have shown many Ralliart ads over in the US / Canada, but here in Australia we have never had any on TV. We can't show any ads of cars driving fast, so the "Blend" Ralliart ad was never shown on Aussie TV stations.

This is a major reason that Mitsubishi has not even come close to Ralliart sale projections here in OZ.

You know we had this same discussion with the WRX/STi. And you was sayin the opposite thing, it would be the same case here. The RA would not handle like the GSR at the track.

better do something because it seems to me they are falling way behind what Subaru has done with the WRX. I really like the 2011 WRX and unless does something with the Ralliart for 2011 I think they're going to lose out on even more sales.

I just had my RA serviced the other day and was talking to one of the sales guys (who is an Evo owner and enthusiast) and he said that Mitsu is no longer going to be selling the Evo here in Canada after the 2010 model year. If this is the case that would open the door for a 5 speed RA GSR look alike.

The difference between the WRX and the STI is pretty dramatic. The WRX has a completely different drivetrain that is well behind the STI in performance. The Ralliart on the other hand has a similar drivetrain to the Evo. It doesn't have S-AYC or up to date diffs or anything like that but it's also significantly cheaper.

Exactly! It would never "feel" or perform like an Evo no matter how you slice it. The RA, like the WRX, will still be behind in performance to the Evo. The WRX is also significantly cheaper than the STi but the ones who can afford the price and want that out of the box pure performance will buy it. No matter what the RA will still be "tamer" than the Evo.
