Headlight Upgrade

Hey Guys,

I have the stock OEM headlights on my 09 RA and I'm looking to upgrade. Reasons for upgrade:
1. Currently my headlights gives off yellowish glow at times. I want a fully clean white look and I would like for them to be brighter than they are currently
2. I kinda want to incorporate the individual LEDs or LED strip look at the bottom
3. Would love to just get some meaner or more aggressive looking headlight design

Now, I have been advised against switching my OEM headlights by some ppl due to the following 2 reasons:
1. The OEM headlights are great and the aftermarket ones aren't as reliable or perform as well
2. The OEM headlights are adjustable using the scroll feature on my dash that goes from position 0 to position 6. I will lose this functionality if I decide to upgrade. Is this true? Are there any ways around it?

Right now someone of the headlights I'm looking at are:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/SMOKED-08-12-...ht_4189wt_1042

What do you guys think? Would love to get some thoughts on the pros and cons of this upgrade, as well as maybe some direction towards what I should be looking for if I do decide to go with the upgrade?

If you want it brighter you can switch ballasts and bulbs to get the pure white look. As far as agressive look, just take them apart and black out the housing and put the led strip in. This way you can keep your stock headlights but they will look they way you want ur

Well there are some really nice aftermarket designs which I like, but I don't want to lose the OEM leveling functionality, as well as sacrifice on the cutoff/spread. So if there isn't a simple way around that, then I'm just going to stick with replacing the bulbs. I was thinking of getting 6000k ones for the best balance of looks and visibility. Any recommendations for an actual bulb? I also wanna upgrade my fogs to HIDs as well. What do you guys recon there?

you could modify the lights yourself. Some people have baked them to get to the insides and change up some stuff like paint the chrome bits black and get the red/evil eye look when the lights are off...

Those mods don't interfere with stock functionality.

Personally, if I were to mod mine, it would be to make the cut off go straight across, or a lot closer to straight across. I'm not a fan of how much the stock cut off steps down on the left.

Are there any good tutorials or guides around to blacking out the stock headlights or getting the red/evil eye look?

Does the RA not come stock with HIDs to begin with? I have an 09 RA premium package and I think I'm running 4300k HIDs on there currently

That's the how to!
I did the same, bake in oven at 200 degrees for 30mins .
I used plasti dip as u can see in the pictures I posted.
It takes times so take your time and do it correctly.

Take off the bumper, remove the 4 bolts holding the lights and disconnect wires and u can remove ur headlights. Then disconnect the wires and all the bulbs from the back of the head light and all the plastic boots on the back. Now headlights are ready for the oven. Read the how to :-))

If ur afraid to do it then pm me and maybe we can work something out.
Total time is 1hr in the oven. About 2hrs to dis assemble, assemble, and prep. 1hr of plasti-dip. Spray and come back and spray again till 4 coats are done, usually dries in 10mins and then ready for next coat

Good product with a lifetime warranty. Look at the 55 watt kits w/ 5k or 6k bulbs
Also, if you have any questions they are usually good about answering them if you call.

There is a motor that actuates a piece of metal between near the lamp end of the projector. When you hit your high beams the motor drops the piece of metal out of the way. To change the cut off shape, you replace/modify the piece of metal.

This explains both the cut-off and the demon/evil/red eye look.

Well, looks like he didn't finish that thread. He did finish it on evo x forums though...

That link might get removed. So, if you want to find it in the future, google search "EvoXenoN strikes again.. Round 2". The top 2 results should be from evom and evox, the complete howto will be on evox.
