Spyder aftermarket headlight projector kit

Hey there:

I am a Ralliart noob, currently have a 2012 Ralliart which for the most part I love. 'cept for the headlights. So what I am thinking of doing is installing the Spyder aftermarket projector kit with some HID lights. I know, shoulda got the Recaro package. My question is: has anyone out there done this, and if so, how did it turn out? Were you happy with the light output? Here is what I am looking at:

If anyone has been down this road, I would love to hear your experiences. Thanks to all those who take the time to reply.

Interesting topic. When i first got my Ralliart I felt the same way about the headlights. All I have done so far is replace the bulbs with Crystal Vision lamps to give it a cleaner look. Not too keen on the $700 price tag with the HID's unless I get a chip or they start to fog up.

If anyone has had these installed please do share your experience =D

Check My Avatar, I have the DEPO ones hooked up to my old HID's. It was a PITA to aim the light right but they look great. It would look 10000x's better with a proper retro fit though, but they worked for me at the time and I am honestly still happy with the way they look and perform.

It is possible but it will take a bit of work on your end. I recommend checking these guys out https://www.facebook.com/DynamikiLLu51ons I just ordered my new lights from them and they do great work.

I currently have aftermarket HID's with stock housings. Only cost me about $250. Are you looking to get an entirley different headlight? If not check out www.hidkits.net

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't these lights come with the bulbs and harness already installed? I was looking into these but wasn't sure if they would work with my HID's. The seller said I would have to do some modifications, but the warranty would be voided.

No He was right, I had to dremel a bigger hole in the housing to fit all the thicker wiring that the HID kit brought. I had just replaced two ballast on my HIDs, if it wasn't for that then I would have never gone through the trouble on getting them to work with the aftermarket projectors. But they look great honestly!

Thanks Mia_RA - I took a look at your Avatar - so those are the Spyder headlights in there? Also, I am not sure what you mean by "DEPO" ones?

Thanks for the feedback.

Hey Miami RA:

I took the leap, now have Spyder projector kit. However, it doesn't look I have to do any housing dremeling so far? the HID bulbs fit in there nicely, and the projector has rubber boot to route the wiring for the HIDs bulbs through? I guess I will find out. Will have post some pictures of my project when all done, along with my personal satisfaction rating.

Thanks justanotherABM for the links. I would LOVE to do some demon eyes, but it would take one trip down the Whitemud freeway before someone would report the, "hideously dangerous non-spec headlights" and I would get pulled over and handed a big fat fine. So I will stick with the standard HID inside the projector, maybe with some easily ignored 6000K HIDs.

That's cool. The set up I'm getting has a separate light for regular driving and the demon eyes. Let us know how the install goes.
