Talking New RA Owner - Quick question

Hi guys,

Long time reader first time posting. I bought my 09 RA just under a year ago and loving it! It's mainly stock apart from a turbo back Hi Tech Mufflers stainless steal exhaust including Hi Flow cat...

I discovered something by accident the other day which I didn't think should be the case and thought I'd run it by you all since I couldnt find anything online about it.

Is the RA meant to cut the engine if the key is removed from the car while its running? eg I had the key in my pocked while my girl friend was driving and I jumped out without remembering to give her the key!

Luckily she made it home without the car stalling in the middle of the road but it made me wonder... Surely there is meant to be a cut off timer if the key isnt around the car for some time... Does anyone know?

Cheers!

I only have one car with fast key (Range Rover), and it will drive all day without the key (as long as the vehicle isn't turned off).

the RA will not shut off if you walk away with the key in your pocket while the engine is running. It will complain by beeping loudly for a few seconds, but it will remain running, and anyone can get in the car and drive off during that time.
