I've had this happen. Mainly it was when cruising at a fixed speed the rpms would bounce. Seemed to happen to a few others and after a fluid change it went away suggesting that slippage may be the cause?? So I did change my fluid (50,000km much needed) and it has fixed it along with making everything about the sst seem that much better!

I also mainly noticed it when in a high gear and cruising, if I shifted down or gave it some gas to get the rpms up over 2.5k no sign of slipping/rpm hunting etc

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. My first 1 -> 2 shift of the day would always snap my neck. The subsequent ones for the first minute weren't as bad, but still noticably more shocking than normal. With the Balance 20, that's gone - completely. And yes, this is in normal/auto mode. And yes, I do normally drive in that mode. I drive 35 miles to work and 35 miles home, so I'm usually just in a mindless drone mode. When I'm driving around town or on errands, I'm usually in Sport/Manual.

And yes, I do understand you don't have access to the TCU or currently have the ability of modifying when it shifts into 6th - I just threw that in there as one of my biggest annoyances. I'd just love to lock it out of 6th until around 50mph.

High 10's / Low 11's.

12/13 at WOT is too lean.

I'll monitor it again tomorrow on my way to work, maybe my foot wasn't planted all the way down after all... I know my idle and cruise is anywhere from 14.7-15.5, which is normal right?

I did not comment on using the Evo X MAF, as that is what I am running, I was telling you that, had you read the thread, you'd know the answer.

Na man, we all start learning somewhere.

I'll let someone else chime in as I don't have a boost gauge (on this car), but that looks....weird....I had the same (or dang similar) boost gauge on my Audi and I've never seen it do that (I had a slight vacuum leak so it never was at 20 inches of vacuum but never fluttered at peak boost like that).

No that is not normal. It will taper down as you approach redline but it shouldn't bounce around like that. If its mechanical check to ensure there are no leak at the gauge or where you tapped the vac line. If its electrical, still check the vac line at both sides. I would start there.

Just came from 2.7 to balance 21, the shifts are much smoother now, with 2.7, around 2.5k RPM the shifts were very harsh, of course that is completely gone with balance 21.
