2009 Lancer Ralliart - GST Basemap
yeah i heard the same thing, but im just assuming a boost controller would solve the problem by limiting the max psi correct?
My current theory is that EvoScan just doesn't like me selecting multiple different ECU settings (with datalogger stop/starts). With the above setting in place, simply starting up EvoScan and getting on with it just works... every time so far.
Even better, I've dropped the relevant addresses onto the OP2.0 SD card's
little config file, and found standalone logging works a treat. That's just brilliant stuff!
If it's gonna be useful to anyone, I guess I could put together a "wot I did" thread - while it's all still fresh in my mind... All the information is out there, but it's spread far and wide across 3+ forums, 3+ projects, etc. None of it will be news to those in-the-know, but it sure would have been useful to a Ralliart ECU newbie like me...!

@Bryan...
Forgot to mention, the AUS spec V2 GST basemaps don't seem to be mode23-enabled.
This ain't a whinge, and I'm not asking for changes... I saw the "no moaning, it's free" edict - too right!
But maybe the original posting's comment could be revised to state that it's just the US spec basemaps that are mode23-enabled (for logging pleasure)... not the AUS ones. That way, us Aussies can plan for the extra tweaking step when reflashing, if we intend to log...
Cheers!

I actually don't think I have the correct address's for the AUS/EDM 2009's for Mode23, do you?
- Bryan
Sure do!
Code:
53610010 <table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #1" category="Misc" address="7efb1" type="1D" scaling="Hex8"/> <table name="IFMode 0x05 -> 0x23 #2" category="Misc" address="8a919" type="1D" scaling="Hex8"/> <table name="DoMode 0x42 -> 0x52" category="Misc" address="8a91e" type="1D" scaling="Hex16"/>
I tried linking to it, got a load of asterisks. So no direct link. Sorry.

Hi Guys,
Noob to Mitsu, coming from Scobies. I've flashed and read my ECU just fine with the subie, but I cant get it to work for my new 2010 ralliart sportback. I've been to 'ECU Flash on 2010 Ralliart Sportback' and followed the directions but I cant load the new GST base map?!? I took both the files listed by Brian, extracted them into rommetadata-mitsu-evo, but these are 2009 base definitions. so when I try to load these files it says that junk about no definitions, do I want select (only for professionals, etc). from there it defaults to 2009 (checked but no 2010 on the list) for inheritate form below. then it wants me populate a bunch of data like "address in hex", "length in bytes", and if i just click next it wants car info, but it doesnt offer 2010, only 2009?? am i missing something.

Shoot, nevermind...
I missed extracting one of the files, it all good!
Uploaded and going to let her idle to get adjusted, and then try her out, hahaha!
In advance, thanks Brian for giving back in such an AWESOME way!!!

First part of braindump is now up...

Plenty still to come, but it'll have to wait for another day!
Rich
Sure do!
Found those on EvoXForums, in the "EVO X" -> "EVO X Tuning" -> "EcuFlash / OpenECU" section... "HOW TO: Mode23, Disable DTC, Disable Seconday BCS, Enable MAF Scale, & More - UPDATED".
I tried linking to it, got a load of asterisks. So no direct link. Sorry.

I'll update the 2009 AUS/EDM basemaps with mode23 when I get a chance.

I have a theory I thought of tonight regarding cold weather and the V2 maps + boostpill.
California has warmer weather year round compared to Ontario (Where I live). We get down to about -20 sometimes.
If one were to tune there RA in California where the weather is warm, is that not the same thing as tuning a RA here in Canada during the hot times in summer?
So heres my question, my friend tuned his car here in Ontario during the hotest days in the summer. Now, if he were to drive in the winter would there be a potential in over boosting?
What im trying to say is receiving a basemap tune from GST in California would be the same as receiving a tune here in Ontario during the hot summer days. So if people are stateing that the GST maps V2 + boostpill have a chance of over boosting in cold weather, then a car tuned here in Ontario during the summer could as well.
