Without physically seeing/hearing the car, have you checked all the connections that you will have touched when you changed out the turbo, BOV and intake?

Ya, I've checked everything. Thats why I was wondering if it was a BOV or Wastegate not doing right with the turbo.

Under what conditions does it happen? Can you readily reproduce it? If you want to rule out the BPV, you could borrow one from another member if they're local or reattach the stocker.

I really don't think it's proper turbo flutter (air slamming into the vanes), I think it's just some other noise.

That doesn't seem like proper turbo flutter to me since it sounds like the car isn't not going from WOT to no throttle, it sounds like a gradual decrease in throttle. Do you know if that Evo is an MR by chance? I wonder if the sound is the transmission. Have you checked in the Evo forum for any reports of turbo flutter or BPV problems?

If he has an aftermarket BPV, it's not surprising it sounds the way it does coupled with an intake and presumably a tune for more boost. Do you know if the 5 speed cars get the same sound as you do?
