I have that same thing going on. For awhile, I thought that it was burnt rubber from my absolute garbage stock tires, but it has persisted since I changed my tires to quality Bridgestones. It definitely is coming from the exhaust, and I believe it to be normal. The bad news is that I have almost 10,000 miles on the car, and the smell is just as bad as it was the first time I smelled it. The good news is that nothing is wrong, although I have a hunch that that smell may get worse if I ever do decide to change things up in the exhaust department, as I have heard others complain about the exact same thing.

I used to get it all the time when I first got the car. I've had it for 7 months or so and the smell is gone as far as I can tell. =)

I had this too, especially if I was running the fan and not a/c. I am pretty sure its just the smell of the turbo heating up

I've had the smell too.

Smells kinda like burnt clutch. I blame it on the turbo.

God knows, 17000 miles, no problems yet though most of my miles are split between 75% highway and 25% aggressive driving, almost all weekends.
