Did you go from cruising (5th or 6th gear) ane just floor it? Our cars have a real problem with this and will throw into limp mode very easily when it happens. It's a MAF sensor correlation issue that most people delete when tuning
Yup, that's exactly what I did. I needed to merge in which meant punching it. Typically if I'm going to do that I down shift so I'm right where I want to be. That's probably why I've only ever noticed it once, because I rarely punch it from 6th gear in auto.

I'm planning on getting the entire setup off an EVO X since it's a perfect fit for the RA. I was trying to decide whether or not I'd see any benefit that makes it worth doing now as opposed to later when I put in a stock EVO X turbo. It would be easier to do that all at the same time.

As far as with warranty goes our cars are meant to be modded IMO and Mitsubishi knows that. The best thing to do if your worried about warranty issues is to call your dealership and literally straight up ask them, "If I do this will you warranty my car still?". Some dealerships accept mods and other will tell you to take a hike.

If you track the car I would look into getting a trans cooler and even maybe even look at upgrading it: http://www.jackstransmissions.com/co...evo-mr-6-speed
I'm almost at 28k miles and I was waiting out the 30k bumper to bumper before doing anything big to it. I've played the car warranty game in the past and won so I'm not too worried about it, but I don't want to have to fight about getting any little things fixed before my b2b is gone.

I love the car but the repair cost on this transmission scares me. If I feel confident that the money spent upgrading the SST @ 60k will significantly increase the lifespan of it I think it might be a worthwhile expense even though I don't plan on taking my car to the track. Getting it cracked open at 60k to beef it up and look for any potential damage seems like a good investment if I plan to own this car until it dies. Gotta swap the fluid at 60k anyway.

I'm hoping that as I get closer to my drivetrain expiring we'll have more info about SST reliability.
