is my manifold cracked?

hey all. my cars approaching 90k and i noticed its making a new sound. sounds like an exhaust leak/ rattling around the firewall. it've never heard this sound before and i've heard around this mileage ppl have been seeing evo x and ralliart manifolds crack just from wear and tear.

my question is how to diagnose this and what are my options to fix this if it is the case? also i recently relocated to las vegas for a job but i travel quite often back home to socal. are these highway miles going to greatly affect anything? thanks everyone

if it makes any difference in diagnosis engine mods are evo x intercooler, bov, boost pill tune. with rre modified axle back. stock dp, cat, exhaust b pipe.

You could take the heat shield off. Use Seafoam[tm] in the BOV vacuum line. Shut off the car for ten minutes (to let it soak). Reconnect the BOV vacuum line. Start the car and watch at the manifold and turbo area for blue smoke (it should only be coming out the tailpipe).

I had this happen back when my car was young and only had 60,000 miles. It sounded like the exhaust was coming from the hood. Not SUPER loud, but loud enough that I had it checked out and sure enough cracked manifold. Warranty covered it...except when the dealership broke a bolt and then they didn't cover a broken bolt. $300 out of pocket because of "wording" in the warranty coverage. Still makes me mad, I talked them down from $700 (FOR A BOLT)

does anybody know the cost to fix a cracked manifold? and if uncorrected for extended periods would further worsen things? only because i commute about 3 times a month home from vegas thats 260 miles one way. and i want to take my car to road race. and depending when i can get an appointment matched with when i'm in town theres no telling how much miles i'll need to put on the car.

unless plan b anyone knows an on par road race equivalent in vegas?

also my 90k or whichever major service is coming up the one that includes an sst flush. i can't afford to do both at the same time. which one would take precedence?

thanks

How many miles are on your SST since your last flush? I've gone 68,000 miles without problems but I was traveling highway only and never taking it hard.

The manifold is probably your first priority. Just my opinion.

i've gotten the sst flush at its normal intervals. i don't have the book in front of me but whenever the manufacture recommended intervals are.

i don't drive hard either. but i do love normal auto mode. haha a travesty i know
