AWC pump noise?
AWC pump noise?
I got my AWC pump replaced on warrenty 3 month ago.
Now i hear a bad noise after driving the car and stoped, when the car has completley stoped i hear a lound noise coming from the trunk.
It only appears after driving longer distans (at least 5-10 miles) and when the car has stopped, i can still have the gearbox in drive. It can appear when stopping at a red light or parking.
The sound is lika a mechanic sound. Im not sure it comes from the AWP pump but it sound like it comes from the rear right were the pump is. The oil level in the pump is OK.
Anyone ?

It only appears when i break to zero and stands completely still. When rolling to zero it don't sounds at all but as soon as I aplay the breaks it comes. Do the pump disengage or anything with the brakes?

I had my ACD pump replaced 9 months ago and it makes weird noises now too. It doesn't do it consistently enough that I can capture it or even have the dealer try to diagnose it.
I get a similar noise to your recording but only when I first start like when backing out of my driveway or a parking space. When I stop, I sometimes get that sound but maybe not as loud as yours.
I get a different sound, almost a gear grinding sound, when I then pull away if the wheel is turned. I have occasionally gotten the same sound when I take a turn fast and loose a bit of traction due to bumps in the road or a bit of sand on the road. This makes me think that it has something to do with the anti-lock sensors telling the ACD pump to work its magic. Until I can reliably reproduce it, the dealer can't do anything. I took it back to the dealer and told them about the noises and that I had read that if the ACD pump makes noise it could be because it wasn't properly bled and could lead to premature failure. Since they couldn't reproduce it, they didn't do anything. I talked to the mechanic that did the work and he assured me that it was properly bled. Now I'm just trying to pin down how to make it do it reliably.
