The thing about the filter falling off is that putting it on TOO tight will cause it to slip and fall off.

If you take some very coarse sand paper (60-80 grit) and scuff up the area on the MAF tube where the filter will install, spray a fair amount of hair spray onto the mounting area of the filter, then tighten the filter on by hand firmly but not overly tight, you'll be fine. I ran that setup for probably 2 years without issue.

If anyone is interested I have just posted a filter/evo maf housing and boost pill.
Great starter set for a Ralliart. Of course you would still need a tactrix for the pill.

Just installed mine today after being super skeptical.

First... For some reason my EVO MAF Housing was a tad to big for the intake tube so i had to sand the lip down a tad. Now it fits. very very very snug.

I did some runs with my car carefully watching my wideband
Cruising and Idle are 14's-15's sometimes the odd 16
WOT Low 11's Mid 10's even saw a 10.1...

Otherwise no issues. My idle sometimes bounces a tad from 1k to the notch under it but so far so good.

I did this to mine awhile back. I had it pop off once on me, so I put back the portion of the stock intake like you have pictured above. I did push my filter back and inside the square portion of the stock intake housing. It has enough pressure that it stays seated in there, and it even took a bit of a kink out of the vacuum line that runs into my BOV.

I've got an EVO X BOV so the vacuum line is on the opposite side as what's in the picture.
