Request: Quick Launch for 1/4 Mile
gas tap method is what i use and works great for me and i dont worry about how long a can hold the gas before the slow down light comes on. this is not my video but it shows the basics on how to do it

I know of at six methods for launch. For all methods I use the following settings.
ASC off
Transmission in Sport Auto Mode
AWC set to Gravel (Rear Bias)
Times quoted are using dynoliscious on an old air strip although not 100 percent accurate in regards to elapsed times you can get a good idea of the difference between methods
Methods Tried
1. Stock Launch.
WOT car bogs down till it comes on boost (14.2 on stock tune)
2. Brake Boost
Hold Left Foot on Brake bring revs to around 3000 rpm release brake
3. Brake & Tap (13.7 on stock tune) (13.2 with mods)
Hold left foot on Brake rapidly tap throttle to about half WOT till revs hit around 3000 RPM. Take foot off Brake and go WOT at same time, done properly car launches at around 5000 rpm.
Done badly you get overheat warning and car goes into limp mode.
4. Throttle boost (no times yet)
Tap throttle rapidly 1/4 to 1/2 WOT until revs rise then WOT, car launches at around 3000 to 3500 RPM. (you need to get it spot on or car starts to take up through auto)
5. El-Diablo method (no times perfecting method)
Go WOT no brake, immediately back off around 1/4 to 1/3 then when revs hit around 3500 WOT.
I have not perfected this launch yet but encourage you to experience it even done half assed you will need new underwear. It takes perfect throttle control as you come off WOT and then re-engage.
Untried Method
6. Hand Brake Boost
Engage Hand brake bring revs to 3000 or throttle tap release handbrake and go WOT.
Recommendations
From reading the various threads it would appear the best method currently for elapsed times is brake and tap however it is also suspect for loading up the clutches and causing slow down lights. I am also dubious about its affect on box reliability over time.
The throttle only tap seems to work well when you get it right you have to tap fast enough to prevent the clutches engaging and the car rolling forward before the revs rise.
I highly recommend people try the El-Diablo method it is difficult to describe but believe me you will know it if u hit the sweet spot. You go WOT it feels like the normal bog down but as you back off the throttle the revs rise and the take up is immediate. It is not a slow WOT and release its a quick jab to WOT then immediate back off then on again progressively.
