I'm sure the AMS would be great. They build top quality stuff.
02 housing for sure. Much better spool up.
Intake is up-in-the-air as far as actual benefit. I'm totally stock with
a stock filter right now. If you have one on just make sure that you
get tuned for the aftermarket air intake. Maybe Silencer or one of the
other guys who have an aftermarket intake can comment.

Any exhaust will qualify as long as it is not louder than 96db and has a high flow cat within 6" on the stock cat location. O2 housing is good, do it ...

Yes you can do the intake but you can only modify the intake upto the turbo (in our case) and can't touch anything beyond it (intercooler pipes are illegal). Intakes with proper tuning are known to make a little more power ...

With the right combination mods, you can make good power and still be STU legal.

Here is a dyno run on a Mustang dyno of my IX:

302whp @ 6800 / 280wtq @ 3300 - one note, air intake temps were reading 115 degrees.

Here are my Mods (All STU legal = 100% stock boost):
Ported & coated PPI exhaust manifold
Ported & coated ebay O2 housing
Buschur 3" turbo-back exhaust with Magnaflow muffler
Rick Jung hi-flow cat (100 cell)
Samco intake pipe
Stock intake box with Rexspeed intake lid and K&N drop-in
custom tuned, boost tables were not touched what so ever

My tune is specifically for pump gas (93 octane) but if you tuned for race gas, I'm sure you could unlock even more power.

Yeah, what are you doing to control boost creep? not touching the boost tables doesn't mean that you aren't getting creep.

Hey Mr. Neary! Good to see ya here. I'll grab the boost numbers from the dyno run from my tuner and post them up. I don't remember them being anything out of the norm. I promise you I'm not trying to hide anything.

Who says we have to control boost creep. Boost creep is not necessarily a bad thing if you can tune safely for it.

Mike, are you still running the 255's? or did you bump up to 265/275 with a raised ride height this year?

Good luck in DC!

Dave

Boost creep usually only shows up on higher gears, 4th and above. 1st-3rd (primarily the ones used in auto-x) you won't get any boost creep, so it is a non issue. I take my car to the race track where I am primarily on 3rd-5th, so I had to do something to fix the boost creep issue from the Ebay O2.

We ended up opening the hole to twice its size, in the O2 housing where the wastegate flow meets the main flow and VIOLA! no more boost creep. We've tested this successfully on 2 EVOs, mine and a buddy of mine.

What are you knock counts like on that tune. I'm at 279/285 with 0 knock count and still relatively concervative. I may have to go back in for that 100 octane tune before the Pro this weekend.

Warminster is only concrete for a very little bit (couple hundred feet at most) and the rest is asphalt.

Is a very good thing for STU

I guess what I am trying to ask is:
Is anyone using boost creep with the ebay o2 to gain that edge on hp in STU?
If so, what r ur thoughts? Did it creep enough in 2nd gear to make a diff?

What is an avg HP/TQ in full STU trim?
Looks like 280hp/280tq on a dynojet is not going to cut it

I just dont want to show up in one of the bigger events then find out I am 20-25hp down from everyone else, not that I will win anything, but is good to know.

Hugo-

I don't think that 20 whp on the top end is as important as 20wtq at 3200 or 3300. I'd rather have the torque curve as low as possible. I'm going to have my car re-tuned with some different intake and exhaust manifold legal mods to improve the tq and some high end HP.

Mr. McCall's "dynojet" numbers are closer to 330-335 whp/295-300 tq. Them IX's are sure showing some good hp.

.........but then again, so are the 07' STI's.
