Isn't your car an RS? You wouldn't have ABS anyway.

In my 2003 I haven't run into any "ice mode" or whatever. Cold pads maybe...

Ice Mode is a problem with the STi. Not 100% sure on Evo's. I've not experienced it myself on the ABS equipped Evo's I've driven. I've just had really good success with my RS in braking. A "little" lockup is not bad, a lot is scary.

We've put both cars into "ice mode" before. I must say though both times were on downhill stopping sections. It's a wierd feeling since 99.9% of the time it never happens in our cars. I just plowed through some cones and drove off laughing. I had a rider in the car one time and all I could do was look over and say, "I guess I need to give up a bit more there huh?"

A few times on the street. First time was right after I put on heavy Falkens and 5zigens. Ice mode kicks in when you hit a steep bump under braking, and the front wheel locks in the air. There's a corner before an clover leave near El Toro that has this. They kept putting a bigger sign to slow down, now they just opened the runoff into the dirt. See you Sunday.

Looked like it was working pretty good to me, at least from behind, which is the only place I saw it from. Thanks for Danny Kao for letting me drive his IX; we are going to sort that thing out and get it working better soon. Right now the car has Ohlins Sportlines with whatever springs came with the setup (anyone can throw me a bone as to what they are, I'd appreciate it) and I think the front struts me be underdamped even for those. The car was pretty good (although not an M3 ) and the course was fast, pretty much ***** to the wall everywhere except 3 spots where you really had to give it up and be patient. I over drove (as evidenced by my fastest raw time being my very first run), which seems to be what I do these days, but seeing how it was only my second event in the car I'm giving myself a break

On a side note, this was the worst Pro I've ever been to as fas as scheduling. Instead of morning and afternoon runs on Saturday we actually had afternoon adn evening runs (heat 8 for STU). We started our afternoon runs at around 2pm and they skipped the break between sessions because a mod car oiled down the track at the end of our heat. They sent out the FJ carts (1st heat) before 8th heat 2nd drivers and ran 8th heat 2nd drivers with HS from 1st heat. By the time we got out of impound we pretty much had to report for our work assignment which left very little time to eat or anything else. Our evening runs started at close to 7pm. It was a very long Saturday to say the least.

Good driving Corey and congrats!

Mike

Corey is the man! Mike did a good job especially considering this was his 2nd event in the car, got me by .019 for 3rd. It was cool to be able to meet some more Evo drivers that I've not met before too.

(I HATE red lights!)

The car is working pretty good right now after I get it off the line. The suspension and alignment is just about where I want it... time to move on to the power department. 2.2 second 60' times just aren't going to cut it. I think I had a best 60' time of 2.1 seconds Gotta get a downpipe and cat on the car and then maybe a tune.

SM was definately THE class to watch for EVO lovers. Mark Daddio was absolutely flying

Congrats to Corey, Adil, Mike and Dave! Top 4 STUs at ProSolo. All Evos. Not sure what Adil's 60ft times are but Mike and Dave are both in the 1.9's. I believe Scott on the M3 was round 2.2 - 2.3.

I spoke with Mark D on this front camber settings. He is running 285 front with 3 degree camber and he is going to 4 degree negative soon. Any thoughts on the high negative front camber settings? We are running 2.75 negative currently.

ProSolo is cool and I am totally hooked on the launch.

here's another STU legality question- Engine torque dampers. Can you run one of these?

Here's the rule on engine mounts:
14.10-I. Engine mounts may be replaced, but must attach in the factory location(s) without additional modification or changes. Engine position may not be changed. The volume of metal in a replacement mount may not be increased relative to the volume of metal found in a stock mount for the particular application. Solid metal mounts are specifically prohibited. Any non-metallic inserts may be used.

Hydraulic shock type rear engine locators, or bobble struts may be replaced by manufacturer’s performance part, or aftermarket replacement part. This part must retain factory dimensions and attachment points, including factory design. (Example: If factory locator/bobble strut is gas or hydraulic piston type, replacement part must be gas or hydraulic piston type. No solid mounts may be substituted.)

I've read that a few times and just can't determine if you can or can not run one. It would be a great solution vs. changing the motor mounts but something tells me it's a no-no.

Engine dampers are a no go, if we had one from the factory then the second part of that rule would apply. Just replace the stock lower forward mount with a poly bushing; it does the job, is cheaper and is legal!
