For the Evo X guys and Merlin, I snapped some pics. Unfortunately I pwned the hell out of the casing in doing so, but everything still seems to hold together OK.

http://thefrost.net/randomfiles/tuni...07.08EvoX_ACD/

The PN on the sticker is 8631A40 (evo IX was 8631A028) and x4t72171 h (from x4t71879 h) and its otherwise marked with 7Y30 and 0065 (from 6811 and 035)

It still only has 2 plugs and they are shaped similarly. I thought both plugs were attached on my IX, but on the X only 1 cable was attached. I can't remember, but maybe this second connector is for reprogramming when there is no CAN interface available.

The board layout looks very different from the one sa sent me here, but this is a euro model and possible has AYC http://thefrost.net/randomfiles/tuni...20(Medium).JPG . The chip on his is marked MH7203FA while the X one is marked MH8401F .

How to open black case ecu without breaking tabs -> http://ceddy.us/?page_id=443

Has anyone pulled a X rom yet? I'm curious if it is a H8 cpu with CAN support, or if they switched to a SH cpu.

A little searching for "MH8104F" came up with a thread that's apparently since been deleted from renesasrulz.com (and isn't in Google's cache), but that's all I was able to turn up.

(There's also a bit of discussion there of an MH8110, which sounds like a similar product line.)

Any chance to get frequency of the crystal? (upper right corner near processor).

That would have been too easy... and here I am with 4 different length screw drivers looking like a fool

I zoomed in pretty close on IMG_8559 and couldn't see any type of markings on the chips. The ISO was pretty high since it was overcast here today, but I would think I would be able to see something if they were marked.

I believe it is m32r processor (either 384kB or 512kB), variant of MH8102F.
I believe Colby is currently working on this model of the processor for Colts and Eclipses

From the pictures, the pinout is completly different compared with evo7-9 and the second unconnected plug is unconnected also inside the ecu. So it is there only because they had the casing and the plug and reduces costs. So everything is inside the left connector.

Fosty, can you tell or make a picture, where is the ecu located on the car because i don't understand.

As far that I know....this is the setup in your RA ACD for evo with AYC.

Did you menage to read this ACD?

Daniel , the tranlation - by one of my japaneese collegue - of the paper i've got with the ecu says that the gravel position is for slippery-low µ track . So semi-wet can also be a valid translation.
personnaly I use this position when the track is very cold and the slicks are struggling to get into temp or for semi-wet condition.

No yet downloaded - I must buy an OP2 ... as soon as they are some in stock on the taktrix site !
will then try to compare with the OEM ecu to figure out some possible improvment and share with you guys
Alain

Hello,

I understand you have the Ralliart C1 and you use it on the track. I'd like to ask you some opinions about how the car is handling on the track with this ACD compared with the stock now, how did you improved your lap times and what difference you find between the 3 modes of C1.

Also, you car has AYC or not?

Did you also tried other kind of ACD ECU?

Hi Sabin,

The ACD ECU is directly to the left of the clutch on the driver's side of the car (USDM).

In my USDM Evo IX it was higher up near the top of the dash, and on the passenger side of the car.

Hi Sabin
yes C1 wich is for ACD + AYC car . With the C1 ecu (with a 'track only' setup and slick tyres) there is no more understeer when you are WOT in the 2nd half of the corners.
lap time improvment vs the OEM ecu is around 2-3 seconds (yes!) on a 3.5 km twisty track.
see here : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7yWrcImGCQ at 06:30 is the 2010 track record in 'road legal' category

fostytou, have you seen my acd website I posted earlier in this thread? I already have documented that MH8104F ecu, and I listed the ecu pinouts for it. I actually found one of those ecus from a wreckers, supposedly used in a JDM evo7/8. I can't actually communicate with it.. maybe it is a CAN protocol, maybe thats why I could never talk with it. I never thought of trying a CAN protocol on it. thanks for that. I'll try it out.

Can you trace if any of the pins have direct connectivity with any of the pins on the OBDII car port?
