Can AEM be used as a fan controller?

I'm looking to get the Flex-a-lite FLX-112. Will I need to get the termostat control or can I use the ems to configure the fan to come on at a certain temperature?

It's my understanding the AEM has plenty of inputs that can control that. Might want to run it by AEM to be sure though as i've never personally used one

Yes you can control the fan with the AEM. Are you planning to just remove your factory fan for the slim line unit in the pic?

You can control the fan with a low side output and a relay. IF you removed the stock fan and still have the fan control module, then hook the (+) and (-) from the two wire plug on the module to the (+) and (-) on the slim line unit.

The radiator fan is triggered by LS #2. When looking at the configure outputs box LS#2 is not viewable so you will have to view the options for it in the full list drop down box. Also, note that the startup map and most maps I have seen have LS #9 configured as the radiator fan output when looking at the Configure Outputs box, but per the wiring diagram than is for the front o2 heater.

Does anyone know what the vendors sell their slim fan kits for? And do they supply the hardward to bolt it up correctly? I am in need of a slim fan.

Tommy, I can supply you with a fal or something else with the mounting hardware just let me know what size you are looking for.

Which size or part number do most vendors use? I had bought one before but there was no way it would fit, mount up correctly and actually save space.

I would guess somewhere around the 10 - 14 inch is what they use, I'll have to measure the one I got with the AMS turbo kit. The flex-a-lite that is mentioned above by bolsen is what most use, and the mounting hardware comes with it. The hardware mounts it so it is thru the core of the radiator, they also have another mounting kit you can buy to mount another way like stock.
