2step Doesnt work.... weird

So I have a buddy who has an 03 evo with an AEM EMS. His is running version 1.11. I tried to setup his 2step for him the other day and I could not get it to work. Is there something different between my 05, and his 03 settings or something? Im thinking mabye a switch has to be enabled or something on his?? Any help would be appreciated.

These are the settings I put in:
Fuel Cut - 6200
Ignition Cut - 5800
Max VSS - 10
Ignition Retard - 12000

Thats the same as my car. Mine works great, his just goes all the way to redline. We had the car in neutral, foot on clutch, in 1st gear, and the car would just rev up freely.

Any ideas???

You have to set up the switch in the software. Post the file and I'll look at it.

He uses 1.11, and I am using 1.19. I dont think they will compare right.

I would rather not post is as I dont know where he got it or how much he paid etc. Can you just tell me which switch has to be enabled?

Thanks guys

You can email it to me or you can try changing 2step input to (switch #4 ground on or off). I think Rev limit #2 will change when the car is on.

If your not cutting fuel and just 2steping cutting ignition set your fuel cut to more than red line and stagger your ignition cut and retard rev 500 rpm or so to build boost. The more you stagger, the more boost. Try this. I’m just guessing you wanna launch at 5800rpm's

2step Input...select switch is always on
2step Fuel Cut- 9000
2Step ignition Cut- 5800
2Step OK Below VSS-3 (or 10 mph)
2Step Retard Rev- 5300

Set up main rev limiter
Lets say you shift at 7000 RPM and you boost 22 PSI

Fuel Cut - 9000
Ignition Cut - 7400 (just a little over your shift)
Fuel Cut Load- 22.8 (a little over your max Boost PSI)
Retard Rev Limit- 73000 (100 under Ignition Cut)

Also in your wizard for main rev and 2step select hard cut
let me know how it works

A friend of mine just had this same problem. In his case it was because for some reason nothing was selected in the wizzard. The setting got lost somewhere. WIth no wizard selection, it ignored the fuel and ignition cut as well, which I found odd, and not very intuitive.

FWIW, I get at least some rev limiting action regardless of what wizard option I select, from full soft to full hard.
