All those rough maps in the first few pages are perfect examples of lazy people trying to rely on AEM's absurdly messed up 'autotune'.

Customer's car melted pistons during dyno tuning. Rebuilt the motor. Brought it to me for tuning. This is what I found The old melt ignition map had 7* - 8* mid range / peak torque and up top had 6* - 7* more

Those look better than the rocky mountains fuel map on page 1. But obviously still way off.

turn out just some kids use the drive way and garage in his parent 's house. Don't know his tuner ability, but very poor customer service. He come to me and offer me to install the aem ems. and when my car have some cold start issue the dude just hand up on me. in fact, often use have exam in school or have dinner or house meeting with parent to avoid any type of look-up after tune. if you want a tunner who is responsable for what he have tune and willing to spent time on your car after he get paid, Racetuned or garget_defeat ... whatever he want to call himself, is not the one IPS, slowmotion, or BR are well know in columbus OH area and will do a better job since they have .... a "shop" with AWD dyno.

If there's a circumstance that always follows 'you get what you pay for,' it's tuning.

The best parts in the world are useless without it...

question from a learner, visiably i see lots of roughness but with out knowing which dimension is which how can you tell what the probelms are exactly?

Smooth curves mean your timing will be smooth in transition too, kind of obvious, but some people can't seem to figure it out. Same goes for fuel, just a smooth slope is a good goal. If your map is hybrid it might be a bit messy below the positive boost line, but even then I bet you can make it smooth and still close enough to work well. I am still 100% boost comp, so I haven't tried yet.

I forgot about this thread, but after taking a look at mount everest that had me laughing like crazy.
