Could be..... You might be right Ryan but I'm still not ready to rip out all my mods to put an XEDE in my car

[QUOTE=silverEVO8]Without missing shifts but with a rolling launch I managed 13.0 @ 105.5
Those numbers would suggest 380-390 fwhp [QUOTE]

it would? I'll say no more than 320bhp. 390bhp should easily get you into the 113-115mph trap range, IMHO.

Hmmm.... I spoke with Andrew and he advised me that the XEDE would not or is not recommended with the mods I have.... If you can bring an XEDE and tune my car properly with it, I'll definitely and very strongly consider buying it Please let me know, I'm right here in Atlanta and I can be at Dyno4mance this weekend.

Silverevo8 if you still have your MAF sensor wouldn't you just need to take the MAP sensor and AEM out and put the MAF back on and put factory Ecu back in. I am not to sure about how involved the set up for the install is for the AEM but maybe selling it and going with something different may be the way to go. I am sure you could find a buyer with the AEM's selling so well in the market right now. You cant beat having an experienced tuner being here this weekend. I dont know how the schedule is now but I canceled my tuning appointment and now will be just doing a dyno . Maybe they could work you in my old spot.

Well, I did ask Shiv to please let me know if he could do it. I'm ready to try it but I need to know if it's a go... Oh yeah, it would be simple to hook up the MAS again and plug in my ECU. I can easily do that or arrange to have it done perhaps right there while the tuning fest is taking place I would still like to keep the rest of my mods though...

HKS RS intake
3" turbo back (test pipe can come off)
HKS 264 cams & cam gears
Walbro pump
perrin fuel rail
HKS 680 cc injectors
Greddy FMIC

I need to know how much money to send and where.... Also, what's the schedule.
Oh yeah, my ECU does have a Dynoflash.... Could this be a problem?

Let's see what we can do, I have the next week off and can help you Thursday and Friday getting it together. Call Andrew and see if he has time for it, I will help for free. The xede takes 10min to install, I know I screwed it up my 1st time as much as anyone can and I got the install down now. It just sucks knowing you have a nice car that runs like ***. PM Noise and see if we can get it on the dyno. I know I and I bet Andrew, David "MP5", and Shiv can make this happen, then you will not have to screw around with it anymore. He also can take care of that dynoflash

Come on down to the dyno day. I'll bring an XEDE for you. Just bring your MAF and whatever other things you took out when you put in the AEM. We can even do a little before/after test if time permits.

Hope to see you in GA,
Shiv

I think everyone would like to hear the real story. George at Boost Solution should response to this thread as he tuned this car.

This is a thread for AEM EMS tuning. Seems like it taken away.

Why don't you take it to horsepower house? They know what they're doing, they ran a 12.2 with just an autotronic. You have the best stand-alone system going, don't throw your money out for an Exede or Dynoflash.

Or, you could purchase an AEM UEGO (if you don't already own one) and start absorbing AEM EFI Basics manual and the AEM EMS manual, both available at aempower.com. Post your setup and map on the forum, and some AEM experts will help you out. Zero out of pocket cost and you'll gain some knowledge, who knows it might even be fun. I can't wait for my EMS to come!

Actually I do have an AEM UEGO controller w/display. That's how I know that my part-throttle cruising under vacuum A/Fs are in the 12-13 to 1 range
I'm not philosophically opposed to learning the AEM, it's just that it's a lot more than I can do in the time available to me. Unlike other car enthusiasts, I have a life outside of cars and unfortunately (or fortunately as the case might be) I'm extremely busy and I don't have the time to devote to becoming a profficient tuner (although this might not be such a bad idea ).

Anyway, I got this whole setup under the understanding that I would not have to deal with all these time consuming and vexing issues because the "experts" would take care of all the details in exchange for my $$...... I'm a little miffed by some of the apologists of the AEM because of the suggestions that "it's not for everybody" and "it takes a lot of tinkering to get it right" or similar statements. In reality, George at Boost Solutions sold me on the AEM EMS precisely because it was absolutely and positively the best and easiest and most complete system. More importantly, I was assured that these very issues that I'm dealing with would not happen.... I never at any time was informed that this AEM EMS would have any issues or would exhibit any problems or quirks that would take any more time or effort to correct than a few minutes with the laptop. On the contrary, I was told in no uncertain terms that the AEM EMS along with the other mods they suggested would result in a car with performance better than stock in the areas of driveability, fuel consumption, etc. Plus an increase to around 400 hp & similar tq. numbers with pump gas.....
If I'm guilty of anything, is of trusting the words or the tuner and the hype in the forums and magazines. I certainly did not have any expectations higher than those promised and most ardently assured to me by Boost Solutions.

I love my xede, works as told, has launch control, data logging and coming soon c16 injection. The Autronic is nice as well but I don't want to play let's swap the ECU when emissions come around, then hope the stock computer will work with my setup. If you think a stand-alone can pass OBDII you are DEAD wrong.
