Hi everyone, as Raptor said I have actually had a look at the supercharger kit myself (we met up at Jamboree). Now I have seen many different applications for the Lancer over the years and I can say this is one of the tidiest and well thought out setups I have seen. The power that the Lancer now is making is extremely good for the money spent. I don’t know where else you would get such a "bang for buck" so to speak. As far as Raptor (Tim) is concerned, you could not come across a nicer guy, very genuine person and I am willing to support him any way I can because of the type of guy he is. I really do not think you can go wrong with the kit, the power is there the quality is there, I don’t think you can ask for too much else. Anyway that is just my thoughts.
In a drag between a Lancer vs SSS Pulsar, the pulsar will win every time, no doubt about it.
To clarify what was earlier pointed out, both the n14 & n15 SSS came out with the SR20DE as standard. The SR20 was also an option in the n15 Pulsar Q. It may well have been available in the n14 Pulsar Q, but i honestly don't know about that particular model. There were other mechanical differences that explained the increased weight of the SSS over the basic 1.6 or 1.8 pulsars.
The SR20DE has a claimed factory power output of 107kW and although this is not exceptionally high from a two litre, the torque output and very wide power band make this a quite quick N/A four, able to beat almost if not every other competitor in it's class and price range. More expensive Hondas and the like are another story though.
My mate has a n15 with an exhuast and whoops my ***(in my 98 Lancer anyhow) every time. I've driven his car while he was driving his Mum's 99 Lancer coupe and i had no trouble staying in front. The SSS, while i personally wouldn't buy one, is a great four cylinder and it's a shame that Nissan didn't continue them thru to the n16 series.

I/we trade as Raptor Superchargers, have company ABN etc etc
For now I work from where I live and have an approved distributor also, (Boost Motorsports (Mackay)).
The kit if fitted in Qld will also come with approval of Qld Transport Dept (Blue Plate) which allows the owner to gain immediate insurance cover with companies like Suncorp. They now insure supercharged/turbocharged vehicles, which was not the case a short while back.
Now for the moment there is still a fly in the ointment so to speak, I have yet to make a bracket to refit the A/C compressor to the vehicle. This will not take place right away, however consider there will be a full kit by early december which addresses this issue. If however the vehicle does not have A/C then kit could be fitted pretty much straight away.

I will post up a time for you asap. I would like to get something reasonable accurate for you OK. I am hoping to capture quarter mile times etc (at local dragway) and will post them up in the after a couple of weeks time.
I will GTECH for you maybe sooner than that if that will help. Must find one to borrow.
Doing my best for you

my car isnt stock but i do beat theses cars. i usually go upto only 160 depending on how close it is. most of these cars im even with until they have to change to 2nd then because im auto i dont slow when changing gear. i also found it interesting when i raced another auto lancer with 2.25" cat back and headers that i also beat him by about 1.5-2 car lengths before he gave up and this was at 150kmph. i said i beat older integeras no chance with the new ones. old as in 1.8 and 1.6. i do think that my car is quite quick for what it is and i love out handeling bigger v6 and v8s.
Raptor thoses prices are awsome and hopefully in a couple of years i will be able to get something like that kit. cant afford it at the moment cause im on apprentice wages and still have to pay my lancer off.

If anyone wants to race raptor with Mivec or other weapon there is racing at our local dragway here in Mackay on
Friday 10th October 2003
Friday 14th November 2003
Depending on the weather (should be seeing some rain soon). I am hoping to make some times at the 10th October date, I also have a grudge match lined up with a XR6T falcon sedan, should be good racing if it goes well.
Pity Mackay is so far away from anyplace

0-100 Times
OK here are the stopwatch times for the Supercharged Lancer
Some details first
Wheels and tyres - stock 14"
Occupants - 2
Fuel Tank 1/4 full
Fuel 95 RON (98 Octane gives better result)
Runs where started with engine @ 2500 rpm, anything more than that either tore up the road (new bitumen) or smoked the tyres in a frenzied blast to the red line.
Three runs
1. 6.75 secs
2. 6.81 secs
3. 6.72 secs
If wheelspin could be eliminated 6.4 would be a snap.
For 0 - 100km/h comparisons (Taken from latest Motor Magazine)
Nissan 350 Z ($65 000) 6.32 secs
Mazda RX8 ($62 000) 6.99 ses
Ford Falcon XR8 260 Kw 6.16 secs
Audi S3 Turbo 1.8 (20 valve) 165Kw 6.71 secs
Ford Falcon XR6Turbo 240 Kw 5.91 secs
Holden Commorde SV8 6.05 secs
Lotus Elise 111S 6.04 secs
Ford Focus ST170 8.32 secs
Corolla Sportivo 8.21 secs
Ford Falcon XT V8 7.08 secs
BMW Z4 6.65 secs
Holden Astra Sri Turbo 7.23 secs
So if the Lancer had some decent tyres there are quite a few cars in this list which will fall behind a Supercharged Lancer, apart from those which already do!!

CSV Output chart from Dyno Run
This is the power readings you get with 95 RON fuel and contaminated aircleaner. With clean air filter and 98 RON you get 160 Kw but after some km this would be a typical output. We have just come back from hols and it was interesting to retest.
You should find below figures marked in green these are the total figures the motor used to put out stock (86kw/161Nm) and figures in red which are the new highs for both Kw (152) and torque(244/Nm).
This would have to be the first time anyone has ever posted up an entire file in RAW form. No charting to skew your perceptions.
Car now has more torque @ 3100 rpm than the stocker had at 4300 rpm.
Has more power at 4100rpm than the stocker had at peak revs!!

Where was this testing done at?
What kind of dyno was the run/s done on?
What gear was the run/s done in?
What tyre pressure if done on a chasis dyno?
What was the ambient temps?
Any dyno chart to go with this?

I hear that depending if you pick up your car on a tuesday or friday it will run better. depends if the people who make it are hung over or if they want to leave quikly from the assembly line to go get drunk....
Well we've been out and run some times at our local raceway. We are stoked
that our stock + supercharged Lancer has done real well.
The ET is 14.455 this is our personal best
And the Mph is 97.12 on that same ticket. We did go faster on some others but the times were slightly slower. We had some clutch slip in the higher gears but we drove to minimise that and you can do 14.5s all night without killing the stocker.
You can kill any stock Commodore Gen 3 (235Kw) easily. Kills Falcon V8s stock easily too, easily kills lightly modded Laser 4WD turbos. Really strong performance, really happy. All this done on stock rubber, stock exhaust, stock airfilter element, everything really + the supercharger at 8 psi. How good is that, anyone can achieve the same with this setup, easily!!
So what would one do to go faster still, better exhaust, 98 Octane fuel and a few other tricks would see a fair and square 14.2 I think.
For the Australians reading there was a modded XR6T Turbo running high boost (9psi, bigger intercooler, manual etc) and he was making 14.1s. I am mighty sure a supercharged Lancer would easily run down an automatic Turbo Falcon down the quarter mile. The particular fellow I was going to race didn't show up, but the modded one gave me something to go by.

hey raptor u said stock exhaust...? but yet i saw the pics of ur car and the exhaust dont look stock to me :P, anywayz great achievement u have accomplished, how much have u spent on ur car to get a 14.4sec time?
cheers
