Sounds good to me. Jose and I live close to each other around Lewisville Lake. Where do you live? I had no idea it was almost 2hrs away from me. Going to have to stay away from the beers for sure the night before.

It's right at 90 minutes from my house in Frisco. I'm 15 minutes from 35/121 in Lewisville.

Take 121 all the way to 820 around to 30 to 20 to 180 to MW.

I live in Dallas off of Hampton and I-30, so it's right at 1.5hrs for me. Yeah, I'm going to get up crazy early.

Umm no. BMW classing is VERY favorable to the Evo/Sti and is also based on engine size with a forced induction multiplier. It's not like SCCA where every little mod can change your class. You can bring out a stripped race prepped 600 whp time trial Evo and as long as it's on street tires you're running in class Y with cars much slower like VW GTI, Mini Cooper S etc.

BMW is based on engine size with a few exceptions (S2000 gets bumped to Y automatically from X, Elise gets bumped to Y as well). I run in Z in a supercharged Elise on R comps with only a 1.8L putting out 220 rwhp racing against 505 hp Z06's and super setup Evo IX SCCA BSP national champ cars.

Well ok - you're right about the classing, Cosmos. I forgot that BMW is based on the engine size and they do have 3 different classes with a modifier for FI and bump for r-comps.

I still think the classing is unfair. That 600 WHP Evo with race suspension will be in the same class as a stock 300 WHP Evo X on stock shocks -- as long as their both on street tires. Doesn't seem right does it?

It's a matter of most/best mods wins -- assuming all drivers are equal.

This thread makes it REALLY difficult to follow who is doing what, when, and where... You have to read damn near every page to find out who is talking about what event and showing up to what event.

So go build a 600 hp evo then

Let's face it your car should have a good shot to win class y at bmwcca. If you want fair classing go run BSP or SM at a Scca event and see how you do. If a lightly modded s2000 beats you, well I don't know what to say

Yeah, in layman terms they ****ed it up way too much and I will be posting local events in the proper previous format that we used before the pompous practiced their perilous ways. Basically, it has gotten so bad I have created an account on dfwmiata dut com to keep up with the events locally and who is going. If this stays the same, I would recommend you doing the same!

I agree. Depending on the competition, my car does have a good shot at winning y class. It is pretty well set up. That doesn't mean it's going to be a fair race even if I do win. After all, how can you lump a stock, street prepared, street modified, and prepared cars in to one class and call it fair? It's not fair. That's all I'm saying. Do you agree or no?

I'm not trying to pick a fight and didn't really expect this to turn in to an exchange.

As for SCCA, I'm registered for the divisional. Hopefully I'll do well but I'm not afraid of losing to a better car or better driver within my class. At least I know my competition won't be a 600 HP gutted out lightweight monster.
