I was pulled over by a state trooper in Illinois in my old turbo Sentra that had a very loud exhaust. I told her the stock parts rusted out and she said she understood but that I must replace the parts from the manufacturer and that rpelacing them with anything else is illegal. I told her they dont make the o.e. parts anymore. Then I asked her if I was braking the law by taking my car to Midas (not that I ever would
). She walked away and said she'd let me off with a warning.
