Eagle Rods maximum whp/wtq
I'm running Eagle Rods. Eagle rates them at 600hp IIRC. On a good tune, does AMS believe that these are safe at 600-615 whp on a dynojet??? Anyone. I'm thinking about pushing mine to these numbers but if they aren't safe, maybe I'll be more conservative.
i had them, and im sure guys are makeing 700whp with them on evos. They are a little under rated if you ask me. I know a 2G that made 800whp on 2 year old eagle rods with 15,000 miles on them
to tell you the truth if i was going to spend around 10-15 grand to build a 600-700whp engine i dont think it would make sense to be cheap on the con-rods especially when the price difference is like 300-400 dollars more from the best rods around like oliver, pauter, etc etc...
we've used them for years on all kinds of DSM and EVO builds. Highest we have seen first hand go the distance has been 607whp on a 2g DSM. That car was built over 2 years ago and to this day no issues.
Ok, let me chime in here. I have a 1G DSM that just made 669 to the wheels on Eagle rods. The best part is that they are from my first motor built in 2000. I reused them in my fresh motor, again that was 669 to the wheels. I think the only thing that would kill them before 700whp is NOS or a bad tune(detonation/knock).

I would think your safe. Me, I would be more afraid of RPM as opposed to WHP. Compression on a rod is much less severe then the extension of the big end bolts and rod half on the top end of the stroke. Plus you are running a stroker so your your maximum cylinder pressures are right around your max torque not HP.
Eagles are fine I would say up to 650 whp. As was said earlier, if you are building the motor go with the oliver/crower for peace of mind but eagles have been pushed pretty far.
