The Evo 9 normal version would be fine to hit the MPH :121.44 MPH @ 8k
The Evo 9 MR would be at 119.57 MPH @ 8k.
The Evo 8 normal version would be at 129.09 MPH @ 8k

At 7k 9 would be at 106.26 MPH vs Evo 9 MR would be 104.62 MPH vs Evo 8 is 112.96 @ 7k.

If he was revving it to 8k he could easily trap a 116 (@ 7,650 RPMs).

Im not saying I know anything about the runs nor care to get into it but as far as the trap he is right... he could easily do it.

These numbers are WAYYYYYYYYYYYY off, Trina. First of all, whatever math you used is inflating these numbers a bit, because the 9 only is around 101-102mph at 7k. Also, trap speeds are not outright speed - they are an average. Remember that in my MR, I could only hit 111mph while bouncing off the stock rev limiter (7600). Also, a IX that ran 12.0 couldn't get over 112mph with the stock rev limiter (7600) either. There's no way that 50rpm gives 4mph, nor is there any way that 400rpm gives 8mph. This math is severely flawed in terms of trap speeds.

Well this is the equation I am using:

25.327 inches = Tire Diameter (235/45/17)

Math on this is 9.25(Width), 4.1625in aspect ratio, 17 in rim.... so you take 17+(4.1625*2) = 25.325 rounded

RPM*(25.327/2)*0.00595/(1.096*4.529)

My math is correct I promise you. The gear ratios are what I got when I searched.

The reason that the true numbers will be lower is depending on what type of rev limiter is being used. Almost all rev limiters have a soft and a hard cut. You will hit the softcut before the hard cut.. the other thing that i noticed with my car is when I TRULY would have trapped higher, I would hit the rev limiter and the car would slow down to under the rev limiter by a ways.... So I would trap at 121 off the limiter but with a slower run (Not hitting the limiter) I could trap at 124. His rev limiter is obviously set higher than 8k (He said he was shifting at 8k) so I would assume he has until around 8.2k before the limiter hits. Therefore, as long as he doesnt hit around 120 he should be ok.

I would assume most the people bouncing off thier rev limiters are hurting thier speeds anywhere from 1-5mph depending on when it cuts the power. That has been my personal experience at least. So you trapping at 111 @ 7600 makes sense that it could have been 113 easily... its not like the rev limiter just stops accelerating the car and holds the speed constant... it drops you a bunch of MPH and then regains power, you regain some MPH till it hits again and drops you 4 or 5 mph again. If you really wanted to test my theory go look at all your timeslips from when you were bouncing off the limiter... I promise they are different speeds each and every one... probably off by 1-2 mph each.. maybe more.

No, mine were consistently 110.7 or within a few tenths. I was never a full mph off.

Also, in the previous post, you said he was shifting at 8000rpm, but we know that's not true. Think about it, his power drops off like a rock after 7k. If he shifted at 8000rpm in every gear, his times would be atrocious, so I don't think that is what he was doing at all, and I don't think his rev limiter is 8200. I can't imagine TT giving nearly-stock flashes with ridiculously-high rev limiters, can you?

Maybe his snow tires were of a larger diameter, this would give him the extra MPH wouldn't it

I don't even like Warrtalon. I just saw your blatant lie and decided to point it out.

I think he said he was on snow tires, so this may play a part. My snow tires are the same size as my Advans, but I don't know what size his are...

How similar are EVO IX's from the factory? Stock Z's are running between 235WHP and 255WHP from the factory. That's a HUGE variance. Are most stock EVO's around the same or do they have a large variance as well?

If they do, it's possible the original poster has a "factory freak" that reacts to mods better than others.

yhe keep telling yourself that a reflash is stock

you are like some mustang gt owner i have seen at the track that ran 13.1. I asked him what he did to the car since it s not a newer mustang gt and it ran pretty good, all he replied was "stock with pulley, intake, exahaust, header, and chip"
i am sorry but "stock" is what the car is running the way it came out of the show room untouched in any shapes or form.

Peace

anyone correct me if i am wrong, but variance within the same model year in evos is usualy within around ~10whp

I think this guy is full of shxt! BS if he is running to 8k RPM! BS that he is hitting that trap speed with those mods in 4th gear. The trap speed isn't the actual speed so he would have to be going even faster than what the slip would say (if a slip was ever posted).

As for they variance....well dyno numbers really dont mean jack to most people. What matters is how the power gets put to use on the strip. Your trap MPH is all that really matters because on a car with a SAFE TUNE this number shouldn't change much from run to run.

This guy is pulling everyone chain and probably his pud as well.

Do you know what stock means? When did start equipping reflash evo from the factory? Stop twisting the truth, you ran a 12.8 modded and a 13.2 stock.

Now, warrtalon does raise some valid points about the trap, which look insane for his mods. I would like Hova and Turbo Trix to elaborate more on this topic.
