Interesting stuff. I'm thinking above the great mods and driving I suspect the close ratio 5 speed and added torque from the Mivec and turbo give the car what it needs to get into the 11's on min mods. If you look at the ratios from 05-06 you will notice that...

1st gear (triple syncro) on the 06 is taller than 05 (2.785 vs 2.928)
2nd gear (triple syncro) is the same (both 1.950)
3rd gear (double syncro) on the 06 is shorter (1.444 vs 1.407)
4th gear on the 06 is shorter (1.096 vs 1.031)
5th gear (not used but shorter) 0.761 vs 0.720

I'm thinking the 9s 5 speed gearbox is even better than the MRs 6 speed Def better than the 03-05 5 speeds for sure. By the #s hova00 pulled out I must say the new 5 speed must shift slick as hell in stock form.

1st gear on the 06 is taller than MR ( 2.909)
2nd gear on the 06 is shorter than MR (1.944)
3rd gear on the 06 is shorter than MR (1.434)
4th gear on the 06 is taller than MR (1.100)
5th gear on the 06 is shorter than MR (0.868)
6th does not matter but the MR is 0.693

Seems like a MR 6 speed tranny could not get the job done unless it was in 5th gear. Paired with the same engine it makes me wonder if a MR 6 speed would be better or worse

Not too many people have figured out that snow tires (ie all season radials) are often faster than r-compounds. Think about it and tell why. If you are right, I'll paypal you a penny.

I didn't see any dynosheets in there showing that he did 355whp uncorrected in the same conditions as when he hit the track, nor do I know if he's full weight like Hova. Also, there are many, MANY contrary examples where people have more WHP than this and lower trap speeds.

None of it adds up so far:
- Making 20-30whp more than other IXs with the same mods
- Somehow gained ~3mph after a few runs with no changes
- Somehow trapped 116 in 4th when the gearing says otherwise, and since when does TT set the rev limiter to 8k or higher? Is that normal for a regular flash on a lightly-modded car?
- He said he stayed in 4th but shifted at 8k? What does that mean? He shifted each gear at 8k?
- Even on the IXs, there is no power from 7500-8000, which is the section that would have pulled him to 116mph

I don't know. Maybe he needs to go to a different track to ensure the timers were working. Seems unlikely, but I have proof of a messed up timeslip in my sig. I by no means hit 115.7mph, but I could claim it if I wanted to.

 

 

Warr, more fanbois I see, you know what i ment, ME and YOU talked about this many times before! My car ran a 13.2 with no flash, and 12.8 with the flash and removing the pill. By stock i ment no TBE, drop in or any HARDWARE MODs.... I could careless how many of you rip apart my mods and fight about what whos got Now that my ~EvilEvo~ stage one package is complete, Warr you can come through anytime

 

I hope your not referring to me. First of all i have no reason to. Second i think that you may be a little jealous. Third you had responded to one of my previous posts and said that you are going to get a ix and run 12.7 stock and run 11's with the same mods i have. Why would you of all people even say that if you didnt think it was possible. Now you can believe what you want to, but i will go back to the track and try to duplicate my results for all of you naysayers and then hopefully there wont be anything else to raise any ?
