I thought about this gaining mph between the 1/8 and 1/4 and while it does determine your top end somewhat it also depends on how you did before the 1/8th. My 1/8th mph when I did the 28mph gain to the 1/4 was only 87mph. Now, why did I run 87mph in the 1/8th with a 2.2 and run 90mph in the 1/8 on my next run with a 2.3 60' .1 diff in 60' yet 3mph in the 1/8th? I always shift at 7300 and my shifting speed is very consistent.

I dont really understand it, but I know my car has very good acceleration. I dont like to bring it my "nightly" races but thats what I mostly do and 90% of them are roll-ons. My friends C5 Z06 with I/E cannot hang with me from a 3rd gear roll on yet he runs 117mph traps... also, a friends car who runs 115mph traps I can WALK away from from a roll-on.. hes fwd! I dont get it.
Thanks , no dyno#'s

Most of my runs a gain around 24-25mph , even when spining , boggin or hit greats 60's .
ie
#1 2.7 60's (wheel hop and i lifted) 8.6@93.5 and 12.8@117.6 = 24 mph gain
#2 1.9 60's (booged badly) 7.8@93.8 and 11.9@118.4 = 24.6 mph gain
#3 1.6 60's (thats right ) 7.5@93.0 and 11.7@116.6 = 23.6 mph gain
(#3 was with out the ported parts and 10.5)

I try to shift @ 7k but i always go over and i shift in to 4th way b4 the 1/8 mark ..

spark plugs-- If i run a plug with a "P'' in the name i get a po300 at idle , my favs are BR7ES

Maybe its the 1/8 mile timers or a lil off and i should be trapping closer to 89 or maybe yall should be trapping closer to 93 ?

we have seen the trap speeds off at other tracks. could be the case here.

why are people always so quick to call people liars :P

get a new clutch so you can get the 60's down and get some good times!

I think the timers are OK actually. If you look at TTP's times, when they went 11.6-8@118+ they were running 93-95mph 1/8.

Matt is your car an MR? I was under the impression that the gearing for the 6spd was more favorable for higher 1/8 mi. mph and the 5spd was more favorable for 1/4mi. 6spd dudes shift into 4th before the 1/8mi. and 5spd dudes shift after. At least lower power 5spd dudes like me.

No he doesnt have an MR, his sig says he used to have the 9.8 which is pre-2005. The 5speeds are favorable for both ET and MPH. TTP switched to 5speed from the 6speed and gained a decent amount!
