His compression is probably 10.0:1 if not higher on his 2.1L, plus the ability to run higher RPMs wouldn't neccesetate (sp?) higher boost.

I'm sure he is just playing with different ways of making power. Maybe a larger bore to stroke ratio provides more knock resistance, allowing higher compression pistons? It's hard to say. But the built motor and higher compression is definitely the secret to the times. How else do you get 500 hp out of only 24-16psi. I have to run almost 30psi to get that kind of power. Of course 10.5-10.6 @ only 127 mph is insane driving ability in itself. Look at my pathetic et to trap ratio. Must be fun to make that kind of power with so little lag.

Basicly moving the power band up into more usable rpm range, 6-10000rpm, who needs power at 5k? My motor is 9.0-1.

So why not just stick with a 2.0 and use the cams to shift the rpm range slighty ?

If you are still running that low of compression why the low boost?

Turbo just can't push enough good air and no matter how high you spike it it bleeds off, and I do run the super-duper BR HP actuator.

I think something to keep in mind here is just Curt's flat out ability to detroy the 1/4 mile. The power he is making is the highest I have made with a stock turbo. With that, on not taking anything away from it either, he also has the highest modified EVO I have ever dyno'd with a stock turbo, the lighest wheel/tire combination and brakes. The light rotating mass I would guess helps the numbers on the dyno.

The best modification on this particular EVO is the driver

I FIND THIS VERY VERY HARD TO BELIEVE!!! I am not a fanboy so again..... I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE. The only way I would go along with this, is I gave you my stock turbo and watched you bolt it on then head to the track.
