When I launch. I launch at 7k and do a full drop. Its AWD so use it...you have the power...put it to the wheels. Im pullin 1.7 60's the only way you are going to run low 13s in the evo8 is with a killer launch...and you just have to let it rip when it comes to that.

If you keep launching like that - soon you will be enjoying the fruits of the lovely clutch replacement job and possibly a blown transmission to go along with it

Discretion is the better part of valor with awd transaxels

Launching at 7000RPMs is unnecessary.

no 7k miles is how you drive it. it has a 7year unlimited mile warantee so im not worried and weather i launch at 5k or 7k it doestn matter both of which will do the same damage... i mean thats just how i do it...laucnh at 5k but you will never hit the potential of what the car is capable of. you have the power use it...

I have hit 1.68 60-fts by launching at 5000 RPMs.

Awesome times.

It'll be interesting to see if anyone hits 12s bone stock once cooler weather comes around and more motors are broken in.

Conversely, it'll be equally interesting to see how well these drivetrains hold up with some of the more 1/4 mile-loving owners...

There is a huge difference between driving your car hard and fast - - and ABUSING your car - - - don't come crying after they void your warranty

Motor Trend claimed a quarter mile of 13.0 in their big comparison, but never mentioned actually making the run. I don't know if they estimated it, or actually pulled it off - but if they did, it'd be with a serious ringer driver.

That big comparo was Justin Bell driving the car. He is not a drag racer but I imagine he has some skills since he is a professional driver.

It was 59 degrees, clear, slight cross-wind, and the track was at 600ft above sea level.
Nuff said

Probably nice high pressure in the area also to help feed that EVO cool Dense air

Silencer has posted a fine time. Perhaps he will be nice enough to share some of his experinces. Most of the times I see are low to mid 13s for these cars. The times I run are above 13.6 @ 500 ft. elevation, 75 plus degrees F and relataive Humidity below 60%. I launch easy with a goose to over 2k then a nice quick release. I shift when I approach 7k with a very qucik release on the throttle and a blippy punch on the clutch.
Can you gentlemen please post what you get and not flame for a while?
