Superz: I actually had a sponsership when running the NMCA and NSCA heads up classes, but it wasn't necessarily for my driving skills. Anyway, with out writing a small book, track conditions always play the biggest role in how to launch a car, especially a stick shift. My best results came from "reving" from 2500 to 5000-5500 rpm. Remember this helps put a slight load on the motor vs. holding it at 5500 then dumping it. I would then slip the clutch hard but not dumping it. This helps the car's momentum and limits parts breaking. More or less takes the shock out of the drivetrain. It's obvious it's going to be harder on your clutch, but better that than a trans, axle, etc. My first mod will be an aftermarket pressure plate/clutch assembly, but not too extreme (no double disc.). This isn't any new information that I'm suggesting, it's just the way my car best reacted on this particular track day. If the track is slippery then of course this technique will need to be adjusted. Hope this helps, good luck.

Those time are VERY belivable!! I have turned a 13.6 with 2.+ 60ft times. If you inserted a 1.7 that would have mine pretty close to you. But My skills are not the greatest. NICE times way to represent. My goal is 13.3, 13.1 is wicked fast. It makes me laugh to see the haters not believe you. Have any haters even seen one in person. Oh well

Absolutely Sano. There were a few chuckles until my times flashed up on the board.

With that 104.56mph trap speed, you should be able to run a high 12.

With a 1.72 60-ft time, I ran a 12.88@104.55 in my AWD Eclipse. I have a 16G and front mount intercooler. The potential is there, you just have to work on extracting it.

I've also run a 12.641@106mph with a 1.688 60-ft time on 215/50R17 Hankook Ventus Plus tires. These tires have way too stiff of a sidewall for drag racing, but the track was sticky.

And my best 60-ft is a 1.684 with the stock Goodyear Eagle RSAs that my car came with, believe it or not.

Silencer-GReat runs. I see that you were relatively kind to the car by not power shifting. May I ask if your launch techniques were equally driveline friendly? I can't imagine that they are with those ETs.

Wow, nice times. I bet you like the Evo a lot better than your V6 Eclipse.

BTW, 104 trap speeds sure make it seem like the Evo is putting out a lot more than 180hp stock.

You can also get the turbo spooling by moving your foot up and down quickly on the gas pedal. The engine will rev up and down slightly, but hover around your launch RPM. It takes some practice to get it right. Then slip out the clutch quickly and apply a lot of throttle simultaneously.

You shouldn't have to launch at more than 5000RPM with such a quick spooling turbo.

This technique is better than the floor it before you let out the clutch method when you are drag racing. The reason is that with that method you have to anticipate when the lights are coming down and floor it then. If you are running a pro-tree, your reaction time will be somewhere in the 1.5 second range.

I'm not "hating" as a previous person put it. I just don't believe it. It shouldn't be too hard to post up a timeslip to prove it. Until I see the slip, as far as I'm concerned this is a fantasy that never really happened.

Your correct ShapeGSX, with the 104.5 trap speed there should be a high 12 in it. Looks like you've travel down this path before. If I had a little more time, maybe it would have been there. Thanks for the input!

you guys make me laugh, why not believe him.

ever here the expression, its not the car its the driver, well its dam true.

I am willing to give him the benifit of the doubt here, considering his backround wich he has explained. Just because you guys cant run that fast, doesnt mean someone else cant.

im sure silencer has better things in his life than to dream up a story with extensive details, to post on the interwebnet to make himself feel better. haters. And if he did, he would need some serious

now if it turns out to be a hoax, ill stand corrected untill then. blah to that.

I agree...at this point some slips would certainly be good to see!
