1st time racing evo

Went down to the local track here in Fayetteville, NC and got to finally race my evo. It was my first time launching an AWD vehicle so the times may be a little low as I was expecting to get better times. The best time I had was a 12.9 @107 reac: .697 and 60' was 1.8...1/8 was a 8.3. All my other times where in the 13.0 and 13.1's. Like I said I was hoping for better times but the track temps I think were somewhere in the 100's and it was about 95 that day with killer humidity.
My mods are intake, evo9 bov, 3" tb exhaust w/test pipe, 255 fuel pump, mbc @19 psi and a dynoflash w/2-step launch control. Anyone think I could have done better with this setup?

Given the conditions you sound pretty close. I would hope for a 12.7 in those conditions. Your car should be a low 12 second car with a good 60' and decent atmospheric conditions. We just saw a 12.49 w/ a dynoflash and intake, so expect a low 12's.

Edit: He ran 12.69 w/ a flash and a MBC. So you're looking at 12.3.

Why do you have it lower than stock boost?

its at 21....but it always tapers to 19 the conditions totally sucked. I probably wont race again until the fall, not really worth beating on the car with this heat.

Times seem about right for the weather conditions. Your traps are fairly good for your mods and are good enough for 12.4's-12.5's. Just work on your launch and shifting and you'll be golden

That's a good trap speed for those conditions. If you're running 21psi, then you're running 21psi. We all taper, so that's no different. Don't refer to your boost as the taper point - refer to it as the high spike. Remember that you are never below 5500rpm on the drag strip, so you will only see the tapered boost level.
