I did on my IX RS. But you have to disable the 5k rev limiter, or you you can't launch higher then 5000 rpms with the gas floored clutch in. I only did it, to accomplish it, but i'll never do it again. That's beating on the car to bad. Better to do a nice smooth slip with a M2 reflash or dynoflash, and you're in the mid 12's all the time I just can't treat the car that way, yeah the wheels spin, and you get 1.6X 60' times, couple that with near perfect shifting > 7000 rpm (around 7400 rpm or 7500 rpm) ... I used to race my wrx and sti a lot. Took more ***** then brains to do a proper drop technique without hurting the car, but my buddy with an 04 WRX (not STi) toasted his first gear, then he put in the STi trans... Again, i just can't rag on the car like that. I'm happy with the reflash and some mods doing low 12's or high 11's with a nice smooth slip and good shifts. All i need...
