Get rid of the clutch. I think your fight will be useless with that ACT in there. I'd go with an Exedy Twin or Tilton Twin.

I'm going to give the new rod a try to see if it gives me just enough throw to fully disengage the clutch in 4th. If it works then it works and saves me $2,000 on a clutch+install, if it doesn't then I'm only out $40 for trying.

If it was just 100% lockout then I would be looking at a twin disc right now but since it does go right in at times I have hope that it's workable.

Nice runs.. The ~7.2 1/8th mile puts you at a low 11 for sure.. The tilton ceramic will fix that issue and is a much better clutch then the exedy for just ~250.00 more.. If you cant get it sorted consider the Hydraulic Tilton.. good luck

Do you have the evo 8 4th gear? I hit 97 in the 1/8 but with shifting to 5th my 1/4 trap speed is laughable comparably..I know the IX 4th gear is only slightly longer then the MR...

I have the Evo 8 3rd and 4th gear. Even though I didn't get a clean run to see what my car should trap now it felt nice staying below 8k@120mph. Last time I was at 8300 rpms trapping 120mph.

Yes we recommend the Tilton Ceramic hands down over the Exedy.. for 250.00 more you have a hydraulic setup, a 7.25" clutch that weighs approx 10-13lbs less than the giant exedy and it shifts in the upper RPMs much better..
