Crappy 1/4

Ok please try not to alugh but I dont this is my fault.

This was my 1st time at the track. Ran 4 times. Never really got a REALLY good launch. Best 60 ft was 2.1. So I am still not use to launching the car I guess.

Also this was at Palmdale LACR really crappy sticky track and at 4000 ft elevation on a hot night (had sprayers on too)

Ran a 14.7 at 97.5 MPH

There were 2 other evos. Best time was a 14.3 out of a stock evo

I have 3" turbo back custom HKS exhuast with no cat, Buschur cone filter, forge recicr BOV and 91 octan works reflash.

I also put 3 gallons of 76 100 octane in there.

I tried shifting at 8 grand a few times until another evo guy told me to shift at 6500. Car seemed to pull harded shifting at point I even got a nice chirp out of 4th,but still I hope this 1/4 was due to the track and the fact that I'm still learning how to launch the car. Clutch isnt slipping at all if this is crossing your mind. I have always driven RWD so AWD is new to me and Im still learning. Im hoping it was the heat and the elevation that killed my time so much because this is rediculous. Just thought i would tell you guys and see what you think. Driving down to Carlsbad and run down there cuz its suppose to be a better track plus it is almost at sea level wich will help by itself

Did you miss shift? thats what I did on my 14.5@95 with a 2.1 0r 2.2 60 ft time. Dont worry about it. You just need practice. My problem is that I dont have the ***** to launch over 5,000 rpm and slip the clutch. Oh well, better luck next time.

Heres the funny thing. I missed 2nd once and 4th one, but I got the same time as when I didnt miss any shifts. So it all comes down to my launching..

or it could mean that you are a really slow shifter. Just practice more and you will see some 13's.

dont worry man ... have some faith and you'll get there.. try practicing your shift points and see where you car has the most power.. sumtimes its at redline and sometimes its not... i had way more mods than you a while ago and could not go past 13s... i now made that goal and hope to break in the 11s soon...

good luck and dont get fraustated
