I've done a 1.5 60' before (granted it was on the Advans) and if I could find that sweet spot again I will definitely improve my time. No granny shifting going on here, that's for sure.

The more time a driver spends shifting during a pass, the lower his mph will be. Think of it this way: the longer the act of shifting takes, the less time is spent letting the car actually accelerate.

What is everyone doing about the rev limit going through 4th in the 1/4 mile? Right as I approach and break the 1/4 mile marker I hit my limit in 4th gear. This makes going any faster a little difficult

I am a little worried about going past my set limit, which I think is around 7,500 rpm. This is with a stock head/block with the exception of headstuds and cams. What's everyone setting their rpm limit to?

You can safely set your limiter to 7,800rpms given your still on stock valve springs. If your on a less aggressive cam such as the HKS cams some have had success with the stock valvetrain at over 8,000 rpms.

I'm on HKS 272's but I'm a little uncomfortable setting my rev limit that high.

Ryu, are you on stock head, as well? If not, I assume you are ok with revving your stock rods that high?

What about FatHouse who is on stock block/head and trapping 130+ ?

I have BC single valve springs/retainers. I have rev'd by bottom end to 8700 before. Regularly on the track I see 8300 in 4th going through the traps. So far so good.
