135mph rule is you have to have a full 8 point cage, NHRA license, ect. Not many tracks press the mph rule though since they know imports MPH big.

a 5 point or 6 point roll bar is good for 10.00 or 135mph. Go faster then either 10.00 or 135mph and it has to be a full on 8 point cage (8.50 cage) Then NHRA license for 135mph and quicker. This is all according to NHRA rule book.

I thought 8.50 is 10 point. I know the 5 point rules and did not want to put more then what I have now in the car

No, 8 point is good for 8.50's. My talon was certified to 8.50's with a 8 point and ran 8.60's.

from a 6 point to 8 point it's just the 2 dash bars and the halo bar above your head. That makes it a 8 point and will certify to 8.50's. Of course you have to have to door seal bar now according the NHRA rules as of 2 years ago.

ok i went to the drag strip tonight. not too happy but here is the run down.

tech
the car passed with ease. i was very pleased. thats about it for that.

racing.
5 runs. best 60 foot of the night was 1.75 worst was 1.88. i dont know. i could not launch the damn car one bit. horrible. anyways. i ran a best of 10.42 at 137.XX and a 10.46 at 136.XX and 2 10.50's at 136.XX i again shifted at 84/8600 rpm.

whatever. im glad i got in and im VERY happy the car made it through tech with no issues or questions. it was a fun night and i was glad to make many passes.

next trip. Ohio and i will race there. then when i come home its time to add the race fuel. lets do this
