Yea your going to be in the same boat with us. When my clutch and trans was brand new, the first track day i didnt have any problems but then after awhile it got worse and worse. Will see next track day on thursday hopefully i will get some luck. Car is running great, just took it out on the street for a 2nd gear pull and the car is rippin.

Scott yea i think it can be a synchro issue also. I believe the both needs to be re-done on mine. Ill see how things go on Friday and go from there

Maybe we all should just do Auto, i think it will be a lot easier hahaha

Good luck at GLD. Aside from Route 66 that really seems to be the best/fastest track around.

Thanks man! Yea GLD is where i did the 9.1. I like the track and its easy to get too. Will see how things go ill keep everyone updated When you going back out with your beast?

Some Evo 7s are auto. And I believe the suv that mitsu makes that has the 4g motor is also auto. It can deff be done. I do not know how to do it though. But I do want it and am totally interested in

My last car was an auto mirage drag car. Loved it. I have been researching the swap for a few months now and I am hoping to begin gathering parts soon. Ill make a thread when this starts taking place.

I def will but i think we need a lot of brains in this to figure this one out. After the shootout i would like to look into it more but idk man a Evo Auto think about it. I know it would be crazy, but there nothing like launching a Evo ya know

For sure there is. 100%. Its just locating the parts and then finding a smart shop to put them together. AMS has the ability to do so so that's not an issue.

Good luck and ill see you at the shootout. I plan to run my car but I am not expecting much. I hope you clip off your goals at the shootout.

Yea locating the parts and putting it together is it. AMS def has the ability and ill be looking forward to that thread. lol AWD Auto Evo thats crazy!

Thank Dan! Having these lockout issues in 2nd, but im going back to the track tomorrow night. Its going to be a little bit cooler outside, so i would like to see if that will help with anything. Also to dial the car in more. I plan to clock off my best times at the shootout so hopefully i can do it there Ill be there Friday afternoon, ill see you there

I said I wouldnt sell them either lol.
Btw the second gear lock out issue your going to have to short shift 1 to 2. Its the only way other then having a fresh tranny and a carbon clutch. Its not going to hurt you like u think. I had to do it in my silver car, and my times are almost right on for what my hp to weight should be. Also if ur spinning in first you never going to get in 2nd at high rpms

Lol you never know, maybe one day ill switch it up and you can take them off my hands

Exactly what you said. Short shifting into 2nd gear is what i do so the car can go into 2nd gear. The times i try to slam it a little harder at 9k is when i get locked out. I think the clutch needs to be re freshened. But im going to go back to the track tomorrow night to try again. If i have the same issues which im sure i will at 9k its not going to get any better, were going to pull the trans and put a fresh QM in there and go from there

Count me in on being another interested person.....i've followed your 5spd to auto swap on your Mirage and have the thread bookmarked as i have a 2G DSM sitting in the shop that i may still build into an auto drag car but i'm not quite yet done with the Evo

I know Dave Buschur looked into the auto from the Evo7 a couple years back but with importing it the cost wasn't worth it.

I must say i do like rowing through the gears in the Evo so i guess it would depend upon how much it ended up beinf compared to a prep'd dogbox.

Haven't looked into it much but could you control the shifting with an aftermarket EMS

Anyway sorry for the slight OT!

GL Joey on the outting coming up i hope the trans gremlins stay home
