question about 1/4 drag race

guys what do you think about my 1/4 time and trap speed.
i have '03 evo 8. stock turbo,bc 272's,full 3" exhaust,AMS fmic and lip.car tuned on e85@27 psi.dont know how much hp,didnt dyno.
my 60' 1.677
1/8 7.990
1/4 12.369@112.69.

im not the best driver, maybe my shifting little too slow.but is this decent time or it sucks?

I ran 7.8@90mph 1/8 and 1/4 in 12.2 @112mph on a 1.8 60'
Same mods except hks 264's on pump gas.

You manage it nail a great 60 foot so your driving is good.
Seems that the tune is conservative on the top end. Plus, the 9.8T housing is probably contributing to that. Just upgrading to the 10.5 housing would benefit you.

You should be able to do better. Could be somthing in the tune or just slow shifting. Check out the times and mods in my sig. I hit what your hitting without cams and and E85. I'm running 93.

thanks everybody.it's just sad and disappointing after investing into injectors, tune and time i got this, when you guys getting this on reg fuel.i agree i cant shift that fast like sequential gear box but still....
are you guys sure you have evos 8,not 9?
my tuner said after i change head studs,he will raise the boost to 30psi and I should run high 11's.he thinks my times are good or maybe he doesn't want to hurt me with truth

I wouldn't say it's awful but it could be better. I also just noticed that you're on an 8 turbo so that's definitely something that's limiting you. Are you running a 10.5 or 9.8 hotside? Some people will say there's not that much difference but I can tell you that going from an 8 turbo to 9 was night and day for me. I easily shaved .5 off my ET by adding a 9 turbo and the short runner manifold.

i run stock hot side but dont know what size it is.i agree that evo 9 turbo can make differences.but i want to max out my stock turbo(safely).and in the future if my turbo will take a dump i put evo 9 or bigger.having two little kids its not that simple to do.
about switching the tuner.hes a good guy not cocky like some of the tuners.maybe hes not the best in the area but his price is not steep.ill give him a chance this spring to do head studs job and finish the tune.ill drive to the drag strip again and go from there.
thanks guys for not saying im the worst i need to practice on shifting tho.

It's probably the smaller 9.8 hotside. That being said, I don't think your times are all that bad. Could maybe be a little better but on an 8 turbo it'll be tough to get deep into the 11s, even on E85.

Are you no lift shifting? I feel like your trap is about spot on, youll prolly only pick up another mph at best.

To translate that, your car isn't E.T.ing poorly because of your mods, just probably need to quicken up your shifts. 60 ft time is awesome tho.

No prob, it's odd at first keeping your foot planted but once you finally get it you'll never want to lift to shift again hahah.
