I went back down to Carlsbad after getting a 91 octane Base Flash done by Al earlier this morning while he was here in L.A. I ran a best of 13.38 @ 104.42 MPH. on 91 octane gas. Well it definitely looks like Carlsbad will be closing down by October of this year. Anybody who lives here in Southern California and has raced there knows that this track isn’t much, but at least you could get in a lot of practice runs. I’ll try to make it down there as much as I can before they shut down. I’ll miss that place when it closes. Enjoy the videos.

RIP Carlsbad Dragstrip. The last race was held on August 8th. I gotta find another dragstrip to race at.

you guys gotta try out barona i know it is only a 1/8th mile but the track is prepped for NHRA so it hooks real well, i went to the last test and tune and got 28 runs in from 6-8pm

I'm gonna check out Barona one of these weekends. Sounds like a nice track. I've heard that they are going to extend it to a 1/4. Any ideas when?

 

yea it is a real nice track, they have already started to make it a 1/4 mile should be done soon, you AWD guys would hook up real good @ barona, i'm getting 1.9 60' out of my rx7 with nittos 555r

My nephew found another Carlsbad Dragstrip website that shows them bulldozing the 1/4 mile asphalt.http://www.carlsbadraceway.org/ It just puts a lump in my throat to see that. There's actually a picture of my EVO in the front of staging lanes ready to race.
