Power Over Force on EVO 8 or 9?
I have sensed my 3 months old sexy GG Evo 9 MR was trying to me I am a boring driver since I have been babying her like my beloved 2002 GG lancer sedan which I have had & traded-in at the Ca-pissed-tal Mitsubishi dealership somewhere in Silicon Valley, CA. "She" also tries to have me push her harder & harder on open road & corners @ around 6K miles on the ODM. Therefore, I am trying to improve my driving skills in order to push her to the extreme. Anyway, here is my question after I saw a few Initial D anime episodes.
Does the EVO 8 and/or 9 have enough horses & torque to pull corners in & out under control via POWER OVER FORCE if it starts to skid on pavement road? I have read articles stating that some rear wheel drive cars have the ability to control their cars if they starting to slide out at high speed cornering. But I see no where have it mentioned the Power Over Force thing for our muscular & lovely AWD EVOs.

I don't really understand your question. Sometimes that Initial D stuff is hard to understand because it's translated and may not necessarily make sense in English. Here's what I do know:
If another car can do it, the Evo can do it, somehow. This is one of the most capable cars ever built. However, if you mean can it power slide on pavement in it's stock form? No, not enough torque to break evo grip levels. Find another way to slide (learning how to brake and transfer the weight properly will do it).

in my experience if u enter a corner to fast , the car can start to slide, but u can keep in control by staying on the gas, just hope u don't run out of road. so yes u can correct in a corner, just don't slam the brake, duh. but i also don't have the stock tires on, i have yokohama es100's, cheaper tires, so maybe its easier for me to lose grip
you can release some throttle to kill the understeer and turn in a bit more, just dont completely lift at once or you could spin..real easily.
if you find yourself in oversteer mid corner, which would be a lot scarier...well, counter steer and do your best to get it pointed in the right direction again unless you're confident enough to ride it out..but if you're gonna spin just punch and hold the brakes and clutch til you stop.

I tried to countersteer...but in the end the car started to do fishies...what did i do wrong???too much gas???

if you want to "drift" awd.. im not sure how but what i do remeber from some people talking about it the key is keep on the throttle... as for can your evo do it... your evo can do anything that you can do .. so i'd say dont try it unless your on a closed course with alot of room incase you slide off the road
also its probably more about how your suspension is set up and your tires etc than the power.. but dont take anything im saying to heart because im a bad driver

Well if you really want to drift if you lift in mid corner it should "shock" the tires. alot of people follow the old saying. never lift power through all wheel drive will carry you. but if you dont want traction just do the opposite
umm... I'm going to assume here that the OP actually wanted to ask whether or not you can drift with the evo. {"power over force" has no meaning. it's like saying "height over colour"}.
the short answer would be yes. it doesn't take a huge amount of doing but I would seriously advise against doing/practicing it on the road. you are likely to crash doing it.
as to whether or not you can save it if everything goes ar$e-up it really depends on how much of a pickle you're in. To a certain extent you can. the matter of how is just too complicated to have a definite how-to (but lifting off suddenly is not always the best idea) and if you're really in the **** it's a matter of luck and amount of road available.
the thing is, with the popularity of fwd cars, the only thing you can reasonably do in a corner if you go in too fast is not a lot (in a fwd car). Brake and the car will probably push and you end up falling off the road. Lifting off or just riding it out is jsut about the only way to go.
with an oversteering rwd car (specially if it oversteers on throttle) it's possible to use the throttle to adjust the yaw angle of the car - an exaggeration of which is drifting.
with awd cars like the evo, it's not exactly the same deal. yes there is an element of oversteer if you set it up right, but it would be more of a four wheel drift where the whole car just sort of pushes out of the corner if you give it gas in the middle of the corner without dramatic changes in yaw angle. perhaps it's the acd or dccd kicking in, but that's the way it seems to work with me.
