This car is amazing, silky smooth from idle to 7800 in any gear. definetely the best car i have ever owned. Cant wait fir the track to open to see what this baby will do. i honestly wouldnt trade this car for a 911 heads up

That does it I'm ordering this exhaust! I think the power gains will make up for the the chainsaw sound at idle.

Hey guys, that's my car. It's just amazing what the IXs are doing with such basic mods. The full TBE was $825 shipped. It's one of the lightest on the market and the fittment is beyond perfect.

The car is unbelievably smooth everywhere in the powerband. It hits hard at ~3000rpms and it just pulls and pulls to redline. The idle is a little smoother and it seems to decel more smoothly.

The first pull was with the TBE and MBC set at 21psi. It made 322whp before the tune, but the graph was nowhere as smooth as the finished product. Flashing the IX brings out the rest of the power, but does it so smoothly and it is just effortless to go fast now. Thanks again, Al.

Video of the car's last pull of the day on the dyno:
http://media.putfile.com/Evo-IX-Dyno-March-06 (give it 1-2 minutes, it loads slowly)

You can check out a very thorough discussion of the new BR Bullet muffler here:

Jeez, I want to get rid of my HKS one for this. The fitment on the HKS sucks so badly. I've had to weld hangers onto the car just to keep it from rubbing against the driveshaft. Furthermore, the exhaust is tiny compared to Buschurs.

Al, I got custom tuned by you a while back in GA, could I change the cat-back to one that flows better (i assume) without having to worry about retuning?

The MBC serves two purposes on the car. It prevents the car from overboosting when the TBE is installed. The lack of backpressure from the larger TBE will allow the car to make in excess of 24-25psi. That's no good.

The MBC also allows the car to hold higher boost towards redline. Even with the flash, the car can't be told to hold high psi at redline, so the MBC comes into play.

Actually - I think that this muffler will make cars go leaner so some extra fueling will be needed

I had to add a whole lot of fuel on this particular car from my normal base map so I suspect this muffler is really a big flow gain

Flashes don't control boost really or allow it to be raised to optimum levels. Using a flash to control boost is just getting you halfway there.

WOW.

Wow.
WOW.
WOW!

I'm so glad I picked up that same exhaust. I've got all those mods with the addition of a K&N drop in, and I'm getting my custom tune on the 12th of this month.

After seeing these results....I Cannot wait.
