i'd hate to see what happens if the 08 sti is neck and neck with the evo x . wonder what you evo owners will do...

Follow others lead and complain about how we haven't had the motor here for years, continue to be slow and wait for the boys in PR to turn up the wick?

new technology, but its hard to say anything runs 25 psi with ease is it? 25 psi on pump gas is as far as anyone goes. in most cases further. no more easy talk when talking anything over 20 psi

So took the WRX to the track last night.

My car has these mods on it:

BR 3" turbo back
BR uppipe
BR cold air intake
TGV deletes
STi stock turbo
STI stock top mount intercooler
94 octane fuel only, no race gas at all
Reflashed ECU
Factory boost controller, 19 psi peak, never saw 20 psi

12.15 at 113.5 mph. Pretty freaking good.

The car will go 11's on pump gas.

not sure if I could ever get used to that ugly front end of the STI regardless of the power benefits....Ranks up there with the late 2nd gen Talons for who the hell designed this front end!....Damn Subaru can build some ugly cars....

Wow Dave that IS impressive. Are all the Cats removed? What is a TGV delete? Is the OEM boost control as poor as the Evos? Could you do a comparison of the NEW 07STI turbo on your WRX vs the VF34 currently on the car?

The '06 has two cats, both gone. TGV's are tumble generator valves, they are like 4 small throttle plates/shafts in each intake runner, for cold start low end emmissions. I do not have a new STi turbo to compare to the older version I am running.

Actually a friend has been tuning his WRX for awhile now and the oem boost controll is pretty good on the Subie, I guess thats one of the reasons so few run MBC on those cars. Other than the OL/CL which can be changed through tuning as well.

in other words you think the 1G and early 2G fronts are better than the late 2G's? as far as the eclipse goes, the front only got better as the years went on...im not sure where you're coming from. the tinted headlights of the later 2G's makes the front end look much better IMO
