EGT Temperatures

For all those who have some method of monitoring EGT temps I was wondering what your average temps are at load points. Any feedback from Custom or base flashes owners would be greatly appreciated. Also, Al if you have any input as to the temp range your tunes are designed not to exceed please chime in. I've read that EGT temps at load points (on boost) should not exceed 900C (1650F). Hopefully we can put together some sort of definitive reference.

Dude Those temps are not that safe. Kind of high, and may lead to pre mature failure.

He's fine, way safe. I'm running 1400 F WOT and want to get to 1550-1600.

The general rule of thumb when it comes to egt's is not to exceed 880 C. I see 700 C when cruzing around town and 800 C on the highway. At the top of 4th I see 840 C.

im sure that the stock car gets that hot while doing a 5th gear pull to 150 or so...there is no way it can stay that low at that speed...thats just in boost for too long.

Well

THe EGT sensor is located in the 1st cylinder port of the exhaust manifold. Isnt that where it is supposed to go?
