1 - More whp in most cases than base flash - approx 10 - 12 on the average
2 - Better "feel" and smoother
3 - Peace of mind to know that all the data checks out and the tune is properly matched to your own car
Just for information - we have seen many totally stock evos running like crap with detonation and bad power. In those cases we can tune our the roughness and give decent power gains of about 20 whp
Custom tuning is the ideal solution
If I didn;t mess with my stock cat, I shouldn't need this bung thing right? Do I need an MBC and a boost gauge for the tune. No one told me I did, but I am trying to get them now, just wan to know. Thanks
You don't NEED the MBC and gauge for the custom tune, but it helps extract the most out of the car. As I recall Al can help reduce boost taper a little with the stock controller and the ECU; but he's fairly limited with what he can do with it.
As for the bung, it's for the rear O2 sensor, so unless you've modified or removed that it should be fine. If you want to check there will be a bung just after the cat (on the exhaust mid-pipe) and it will have a sensor plugged in w/ two wires. The wires will run up through the bottom of the car. Sometimes people relocate them to where the cat was with cat deletes.
If I'm wrong about any of this Al can chime in. If you need any help with the MBC or gauge install let me know. I've done a bunch of them now; and I'm doing more this week. Both are fairly cheap parts and the MBC really makes a huge difference. You can get the MBC from Al (which comes packaged with all the hoses, tees, and vacuum line covers you need) and a simple Autometer boost gauge and mount from anywhere, all for less than $200. I paid about $170 total I believe (gauge and mount from Lancershop.com).
Shoot me a PM if you need any help or info.

95% of the exhuasts out there have the bung in the proper location for our purposes
Just crawl under the pass side of the car, look up and you will see the rear o2 sensor saring you in the face - if its flush to the pipe and NOT on a 3 - 4 " extender pipe then you are all set !
You do not "NEED" a MBC and gauge - however - it is highly recomended to you. We have found that having a MBC allows you to dial in the exact boost level we need on a very consistant basis. I have the MBC and gauge in stock ready to go
