I was on the K&N site and when you entered an Evo the site only displayed the drop in. I believe K&N has removed the Typhoon intake.

The K&N cone on my Talon made a very noticeable to low end grunt.

you searched for an 06, K&N has not received a C.A.R.B EO on the 06 yet, so they do not list it. if you search for an 03-05, it comes up

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but is there a newer, more recent version of this thread?

Yeah, done deal. I read somewhere that one of these guys came up with some work around, no way is it worth it in production for us. But just for curiosity's sake I wanted to see what that was.

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner

To fix the K & N Typhoon simply cut off the flap which in inside the tube which goes from the MAF to the turbo near the BOV return

You can simply hit the outside of the pipe with a cut off wheel and then reweld or you can knock out the flap from the inisde

Itw ill then work like any other intake and will needa retune if it was tuned previously with the flap

Let me know if you have any other questions

Al

Modified my "Typhoon" POS

Bring it back! Sorry, but it appears the hundreds of posts on this "typhoon" have been deleted. I've read K&N had something to do with deleting posts. How is that possible?

Anyhow, I bought my car a few years ago with the K&N typhoon already installed . I didn't know it was a liability until recently or I just forgot. So I decided to modify it by removing the flap/restriction that is by the BOV pipe.

My questions are:
1. Is this a temporary fix or will this be pretty close to most of the intakes out there?
2. Where do I start with tuning for this mod? MAF scaling, injector scaling, etc?

BTW, I've read a bunch of posts by Warrtalon and others on this intake, but I'm sure a lot of good info have been deleted .
