Not attacking. But I didn't see any reason for his comments about my son.
They were unsolicited and uncalled for.

I believe he truly believes what he says.
However, I was also there. My recollections are different.
Guess Dave and I were wearing different color glasses.

Mike's dad.
I understand your standpoint, but it seems you and your son are knew to this modding game, you need to understand what is happening.. When you figure it out make me a promise and come back here and post" Dave, you were right"

imprezivr6, I just did some research and can't find anywhere that says C16 will make the car run rich!! In fact, everything I'm finding says it will LEAN out the engine; as Al stated.
NO, what you may be reading is that when you add it you can TUNE for a leaner AFR and more advanced timing without Knock. Due to the octane and specific gravity of c16 it takes some serious energy to burn.. If any of you would like to test this out i have a wideband mounted in my car and i would be willing to run 93 pump logs then dump in c16 and log again.. That is the reason for a c16 tune, because if you run c16 on your pump tune you will be DOWN on power...

So, these people were all present at this past dyno day? The one you are posting about? I do fully understand what's going on. It seems that you're posting your opinion of what happened and 2 of the owners who you claimed to be taking up for came and posted conflicting stories. I'd rather get the info from the horse's mouth than a bystander.

It is my money, you're right. Ask Al how much of that money he's seen from me. Don't confuse me as an Al supporter; I'm just someone who likes to see everyone get a fair shake of the stick (unless your name's Shiv ).
If you read BOTH owners said they argee 100% with how the day went, and Mikes dad is just saying he doesnt believe the intentions of Al's were bad.. That is his opinion just like i have mine, i feel his is a bit biased because he is running the flash and no one wants to admit what their car is running is nothing other then the best..

I am not some bystander, like i said i helped my friend build his car from day one, I treat his car as if it were my own.. The fact that i didnt pay the money for the tune should not matter, and i am SURE my friend will post here soon.. I saw what i saw, and i am not some noob who knows nothing just because i am new here.. I understand your concern, but i dont know how much closer to the horses mouth you can get..

Go to shivs forum and read the thread titled"poetic justice" or something like that, That is where evo8 power basically confirms what i have said.. I do not personally know evo8power, and on the subaru forums we have had it out before because of his constant subaru bashing, but now that he sees Al for what he is worth we both share the same opinion of the situation..

You are one to talk!! This from someone who loves to attack Al and his customers! Uhm, pot calling kettle black.. mean anything?

BTW, where you there? Did Al tune your car? Or are you just piping in with your OPINION?

Sorry to say Mikes dad, times are much different now, and you need to be a little sharper to who who hand your money to.. Like i said it is hard to swallow when things like this are happening..

WHat comments? That he is hopeless? Well what would you call it when someone who doesnt even know him is concerned with his car and results and all he can say for himself is what Al keeps putting in his head. Slapping on MORE parts will NOT always make your car faster.. You need to do more research before jumping into things..

I showed no disrespect towards you or your son, infact all i did was ask questions and try and offer my advice.. You may look at me like what do i know, since i am no Al But do not judge a book by its cover, i know more then you think i do.. Keep in mind i made over 100whp more then Mikes car without going into my motor, and probally spent a few thousand less on motor mods..

PS. please do not write me off becasue we dont agree, we will talk at the shootout and you guys can say what you want to me but i would like to keep things friendly, becuase i am not here to fight i am here to help..

Dave

YET AGAIN - more speculation and conjecture by yourself which is totally without merrit.

Your allegation is apparently that i do not do "custom" tuning but only load various base maps - this is false and I can prove otherwise

The procedure is when doing a custom re-tune we base line the car - make adjustments to the map in the car - by altering the a/f tables and ign maps in the reflash softwear

Unlike Utecs or other tuning devices that YOU may be familiar with - reflashing the stock ecu does not give you data logging capability or logging

We do WRITE ONLY flashing - our reverence is the previous tuning map and we adjust from that point.

Of course this is a more difficult method of tuning than on the fly devices - however - we have learned to work with it and get very good results.

This is why we can edit the maps from a dedicated power supply in the office and down load them into the ecu without hooking it up to the ecu

Your "observations" of my methods and techniques are inaccurate

Your conslusion that I am loading "BS base map loading custom tunes" is totally incorrect and flase.

In each and every case of a custom tune we make numerous revisions to the ecu mapping to make the car run smoothly and customize the tune to the car. The methods and results are apparent in the dyno sheets which I have been posting which are amung the smoothest in this industry.

Pretty funny when the guys you work with at pruven refer to your product as the "dyno flush" and laugh at the thought of you tuning a car..

And please explain again how you tune without logging?
So your monster 400 whp WRX can only race Evos with 100 less whp ? Why is that ??? Hardly sporting if you ask me

still with the backhanded insults.

Why do you assume that because I am "new" I am a mislead moron.

As has been said before "Modding ain't brain surgery", paticularly when dealing with bolt-ons.
Each part has a specific function that will provide an already well established HP gain
(by testing and actual users testimony).
Everything put on Mike's car has produced the expected HP gain over his stock baseline.

It's becoming abundently clear that whatever expectations you guys had for Erik's car were not met.
But is the gain in error, or the expectation ???

Dang - he made 360. Buschur himself didn't make over 380 on the stock tubo ...
What were you guys expecting ???

Dad

Thumbs up

Thanks for the informative opinion that is worth something. I think your posts rock because you are informing people of what your experience has been from attending the dyno day.

You also have no ties to the evo community (by purchasing a certain product over the other), I personally feel that your motives are just trying to help out other evo owners. I also find it pretty interesting that the employee's at pruven call it a dynoflush; that in itself says a lot about this product.

Take care and we need more posts about different experiences like this.

Oh my god, of course Dyno FLUSH guys have to step in now just because they have the wallmart flush. Keep it coming, I will laugh so hard the day you guys switch to piggy back or stand alone. Keep throwing your money and I will keep watching.

So are you saying that your friend is disatisfied with his 360 whp race gas dyno tune - and his puimp gas Dyno Flash?

Are you saying that this tune sucks ?

Was I ripping your friend off ???

Did I take advatnage of him

How does his car run on the road - is he disatisfied with my efforts?

Let me say this now - and let me say this clear (while I have a chance) - the dyno sheet posted here of this luantics buddy is just about some of the best work I can do in 90 degree heat and high humidity on a stock fmic on pump gas. The air in the dyno room was filled with exhuast emissions and smog - not much 02 left and yet this midly modded car put down real good numbers with a real good looking trq curve.

To anyone reading this idiotic melodrama - if you dont like how that dyno sheet and tune looks - DONT do business with Dyno Flash.

That is how we tune - that is the kind of service we provide and that is the product we deliver.

I am proud of what we provided this guy and his friend - it was done at a very reasonable special price of $375 with the dyno time and the results were very good.

I understand where you're coming from, but I thought this thread was to discuss the events that took place at the last dyno day? I have yet to see any of the attendees state that they were dissatisfied with what took place. The owner of the black Evo even seemed quite pleased that Pruven/Al were looking out for him. That's my point. Do I think you're lying? Nope, I believe you stated your opinion. I would be interested to hear exactly what your friend has to say about this.

Let's face it, all most of us have to go on when picking tuners is their reputation and customer experiences. Many of the tuners, in my mind, have ruined their reputations on this board alone. I'm not trying to pick a fight, just would like to see the whole truth without the fan boys jumping in or the needless name calling.

Hey AL, your race gas excuse makes no sense, i cant belive you even bothered to type that, you ant dump in c16 and turn up the boost and compare anything on the dyno, like i said c16 richened up the mixture. That is why with 5psi more he made less hp, if you would have dumped in the c16 and made a pull on pump gas boost he would have lost 30whp atleast.. You arent seeing the low vs high boost hp comparo what you are seing is a richend up pull at high boost.. Al we both know c16 needs much more timing to burn correctly.

Hmm i can race evo's with similar mods to me, acutally some having more mods then me. The fact that they arent making power isnt my fault now is it? I am sory i do not want to race your shop car that is fully caged and on drag radials, against my Car that i built myself, with my money i earned. And why are you changing the story now? That night you said to Erik" no way your friends wrx is making that power, you will beat him" So put up or shut up Al, bet me a set of seats a 55gal drum of c16, or a new gt30 that i will not destroy erik.. Why didnt you race ESX last year after all the smack you talked? WHy dont you race Marc's supra?

Enough with the personal attacks Al if you didnt read my first post i didnt want this to be a flame fest, but it seems like every thread you jump into turns into one..
Why you keep attacking me with personal blows i dont know, but it shows your maturity level.. Keep it up it is really not helping your "case"
