CornFed Independence
Hello All,
I recently converted over to E70, and I have to tell you my IX pulls like a raped monkey. I HAVE to keep both hands on the wheel in first to stay in control. It is sick.
Anyway there is one problem at wot, high load, 4-6 gear, 2500-4000 rpm, I have what my knowlegable friend says is compressor surge. I was wondering if anyone else has that issue? I have troubleshot everything bov, spark plugs, boost leaks. My friend says that the e70 is forcing the turbo to spool too soon. So how do I get rid of it, tune it out, buy cams, ported hotside. My goal of the car was to have stock drivability

Can you post a log or a video clip of it? Here's a You tube clip you can watch. If it is surge there are a few things you can do.
One is not to bog the engine. Two turn the boost down. Three add timing to help the engine accelerate into boost. Four a stiff sprung BOV can cause it. Are you sure your not tripping a fuel cut?

Are you flashed for higher boost? I have my boost cut delay timer set to the maximum value. Anytime you over boost it trips the fuel cut timer.
No not boost limit. I was looking for the Boost cut delay timer for the IX but I don't see it in Ecu flash. It's in the older roms 05 and down. You might have to post in EcuFlash forum to find out. Maybe it's hidden or they did away with it. I will do some searching and see what I can find out.

You need to check your load tables and see what the maximum load is set for. You may have to rescale for more load or turn the boost down. I hope your not on the stock fuel pump. If you post whats going on with your car in the EcuFlash forums your going to get a lot more help. Here is a link for rescaling load.
