E85 price gouging!!!
Here in Philly, I can get 87 octane gasoline for 3.88 a gallon, and at the same station they sell E85 for 3.79...WTF!!! 2 months ago they were only at 3.29 and I can drive 40 miles and find E85 regularly 50-60 cents cheaper then at this station..I can still drive to allentown and get it for less then 3.40 to this day..Is this just greed on the store owners part?? I'm thinking of getting a 14 gallon fuel cell with pump that I saw at home depot and just staying away from this station..
Could be some "gouging" but i'm guessing the recent hike in prices are due to the recent floodings in the mid-west which destroyed a lot of corn crops. If it makes you feel better, E85 prices here in LA stayed the same while regular gasoline fell.
whats going to happen is once everyone makes the switch to e-85 from gasoline the price of e-85 is going to get jacked up just like gas but the USA companies make all the profit. Its apparently already begun..... I remember reading when E-85 was first popping up that it should always be 1/2 the price as gas since theres much less to it and theres no importing...
Then people try to start blaming the cost of the barrel of oil when it hasnt changed in years, its the oil companies raising the prices so for 2007 they all are in the top 20 most profitable companies in the USA. =-) Read that on CNN.com
Cheers!

I assume this is a private station? Or a franchise? I'd say that particular operator thinks he has a valuable commodity in that sub-market, so he is pricing his 'liquid gold' accordingly.
There are two stations about the same distance (4 mi in opposite directions) from my house with E85. One is at $3.19 and the other is $3.39. I buy at the later simply because it is just down the street from my office.
You need a competitor to start selling E85 nearby this rogue station. Nothing like competition to bring pricing in line.

yes, it is the shll station..Anyone else paying 3.79 for E85 lol??
They sell it in allentown much cheaper which is not THAT far away to justify a 50 cent difference.

Figures, looks like they are charging among the highest national average..I'm thinking of going back to Gas and just switching for when I hit the track..Sucks because I just got rid of my EBC in favor of an MBC and now I can hit 27psi, it's quite fun!
I know the owner... They are the only carrier in the area. I think he makes 5 cents per gallon of e85. Which is not much because most gas stations make 15 to 20 cents per gallon of regular gas.
